Location: This role is based out of our Mount Laurel, NJ office on a hybrid work schedule. Remote candidates will be considered with frequent travel to the NJ office.

Position Overview: RetireeFirst is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Vice President of Data Management to lead our data-driven initiatives.

As the Vice President of Data Management, you will be responsible for defining and operationalizing a data strategy, building roadmaps, defining architecture, instituting a continuous improvement lifecycle, and building a high performing team for a rapidly growing healthcare company. You will play a large role in shaping the future of the organization through data transformation that encompasses the way business divisions store, process, transmit and visualize data. You will be the key person responsible for getting value out of data we have and data we could have. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven decision-making, drive innovation, and enhance overall business performance through effective data management.

Keys to success: Over the first 90 days, the VP of Data Management will have:

  • Established key relationships and gained intimate knowledge of the business.
  • Formed a solid understanding of key processes around: implementations, eligibility, renewals, financial reporting, and call center service.
  • Drafted a comprehensive strategy that includes data architecture, platform selection and team composition.
  • Developed a point of view on future Data technology standards, with timelines, milestones, and business objectives.
  • Drafted plans and timelines for implementation and transformation execution
  • Have a strong point of view on Automation, AI capabilities, Health Data security, and Data privacy.
  • Developed a roadmap of optimizing our CRM solution consumption and a point of view on the scalability of Salesforce as a solution.
  • Developed KPI’s to measure success and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Strategy and Vision:

  1. Develop and communicate a clear data strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  2. Define the vision for data management, ensuring it supports both short-term and long-term objectives.

Data Architecture and Roadmap:

  1. Design and implement a scalable and efficient cloud data architecture to support the organization's data needs.
  2. Define and implement strategic AI/ML capabilities to enhance capabilities and efficiencies.
  3. Evaluate our current CRM solution (Salesforce) and develop a future CRM roadmap.
  4. Ensure data security, privacy, integrity, and compliance with industry standards, contractual commitments, and regulations.

Implementation and Execution:

  1. Lead the implementation of data initiatives, including data pipelines, data warehousing, and analytics platforms.
  2. Secure the right resources, working through change in Salesforce capabilities and reporting capabilities.
  3. Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate data solutions into existing systems and processes.
  4. Plan and execute business reporting improvements to introduce self service capabilities and efficient data reporting through Salesforce, Call Center systems, and a new data architecture.

Continuous Improvement:

  1. Establish processes for ongoing data quality monitoring, data cleansing, and data enrichment.
  2. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization of data-related processes.

Team Leadership:

  1. Build and lead a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  2. Keep Data management vendors and partners accountable for service delivery.
  3. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting professional development.
  4. Build relationships with key business stakeholders with the proper cadence, focusing on process improvement and service delivery.

Key Skillsets:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Proven experience in developing and executing data strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Ability to communicate a compelling vision and gain organizational buy-in for data initiatives.
  • Ability to drive transformational change across the organization as it relates to Data.

Data Architecture and Technology:

  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing scalable data architectures.
  • Proficiency in data technologies, including Salesforce, Call Center data, databases, data warehouses/data lake, ETL tools, AI/ML

Project Management:

  • Demonstrated success in leading complex data projects from conception to implementation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.

Team Management:

  • Leadership experience in building and managing high-performing data teams.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve ambitious goals.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative approach with a proven track record of working effectively across departments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data functions, 5+ years of leadership experience in data management roles, demonstrating a consistent history of career advancement and professional growth.
  • Proven track record of successful implementation of data transformation in the healthcare sector.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing data solutions including AI/ML models.
  • Proven ability to inspire, lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare landscape, data structures, data modeling and data governance
  • Strong understanding of a Call Center, BPO driven business
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex data-related concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of healthcare Information security regulations and standards related to data usage and privacy as well as HIPAA/HITRUST compliance standards.

Key technology and skill proficiencies:

  • MS Azure Cloud data architecture (data Lake, data warehouse, database)
  • Salesforce Cloud
  • CCaaS familiarity – understanding of call center business data.
  • Sales data and process efficiency (through Salesforce and HubSpot today)
  • Healthcare/Carrier integration experience
  • Sage intact or equivalent financial management solution data familiarity
  • Boomi / MuleSoft or equivalent EDI platform- 834 file experience a plus.
  • Tableau, Power BI
  • OpenAI

Responsibilities:

  • This role will drive the strategic application of data across the organization.
  • Employing a comprehensive data strategy, the VP of Data Management will enable the organization to engage the right stakeholder at the right time, resulting in improved outcomes.
  • Leading the strategic planning, development, and implementation of a data strategy, encompassing AI and ML initiatives, data governance and data management to achieve RetireeFirst mission and objectives.
  • Working with and supporting a high-performing team of data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization to optimize the use of data in enhancing outcomes and driving efficiencies.
  • As part of the overall data transformation, find ways to optimize our use of Salesforce as part of the modern data architecture and create a future vision for how data is stored, processed, and transmitted.
  • Enhance the EDI function for better redundancy and efficiency as it continues to grow into a mission critical service.
