As a Senior Software Development Engineer at Radiant, you'll be at the forefront of our mission. Your role includes translating concepts into reality by evaluating requirements, collaborating with fellow engineers to integrate cutting-edge algorithms into our product lineup, devising comprehensive plans with a focus on system integration and image processing, and engaging directly with our customers to create tailored solutions. You will interact with key Radiant customers to understand their needs in order to create bespoke solutions as well as specify new products and product updates to meet broad market requirements. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Planning, specification, creation, and documentation of software solutions.
  • Primarily develop in .NET with VB and C# with a focus on MVVM and WPF for data presentation.
  • Implement communication protocols using standard communication conduits such as TCP/IP and Sockets.
  • Help define product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.
  • Work with other engineers to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility.
  • Provide and deliver expert level technical support for both customers and Radiant Vision Systems internal associates.
  • Understand market drivers and customer needs for Radiant’s Advanced Vision products to specify new products and provide input into the Advanced Vision product roadmap.
  • Meet with key customers to understand their specific needs, create solutions to bridge the gap between the customer need and Radiant’s technological capabilities, and effectively communicate reports, data, and concepts to the customer to drive a project to successful completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or similar.
  • 6+ years of experience in software design and development.
  • 1+ year of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems; exploring technical feasibility and tradeoffs.
  • 1+ year experience in algorithm design, data structures, problem solving, and complexity analysis; image processing experience desired.
  • OpenCV, WPF, Workflows, MVVM, and XAML experience a plus.
  • Experience in programming hardware interfaces and control of scientific equipment.
  • As an experienced developer, you ideally will have worked directly with hardware, consider yourself a jack of all trades, and enjoy contributing to a hands-on environment. It will be great if you have know-how with lighting and optics design for machine vision applications.
  • Ability to produce code that is fault-tolerant, efficient, and maintainable.
  • Ability and willingness to multi-task and learn new technologies quickly.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Advanced mathematical skills combined with strong problem solving, troubleshooting and organizational skills.
  • Experience interfacing equally well with customers, sales staff, product development engineers, as well as production managers in a team-oriented environment.
  • Occasional international & domestic travel may be required.

Compensation | Min $125k to Max $144k

This position is eligible for experience specific compensation ranges based on candidate experience, compensation will be aligned and determined based on this criteria. Fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience levels, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
