At Dekker Perich Sabatini (DPS) a qualified Unity Software engineer will take part in efforts related to advanced data visualization, IoT sensor integration, and control of critical physical systems. DPS is investing significant resources in Digital Twin technology to deliver cutting-edge capabilities in the areas of operations and facility management, AI/ML-based simulation, data-driven decision-making, and advanced visualization of data around the built environment. The Unity Software Engineer will be at the heart of this exciting strategic imperative!

As a Unity Software Engineer, you will help lead holistic Digital Twin development and thus be proficient in multi-platform dev/test and translating client user stories into functioning code. You will be responsible for documenting, developing, and maintaining our Digital Twin visualization platform. This includes UI implementation, third-party API connections, Windows, Linux and web-based deployment, cloud-based rendering, CI/CD pipeline development, schema design, testing, and bug fixes. The selected candidate will support program deliverables, technology demonstrations, trainings, and reviews as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, introduces, and maintains new and existing software development standards to ensure the quality and functionality of all custom software.
  • Works directly with clients/end users to identify their needs and opportunities for further feature development.
  • Engages in continued research, education, and dialogue on Digital Twin design innovations and the relevant technologies.
  • Documents necessary change management initiatives surrounding newly introduced tools and data standards.
  • Develops, maintains, and supports full-stack Digital twin software utilizing C#, Unity, REST APIs, SQL DB, and other necessary technologies.
  • Identifies and communicates to the firm system progress, accomplishments, challenges, and support needed to complete responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data science, data engineering, or other related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience operating in an Agile environment.
  • Strong written, graphic, and verbal communication skills with proven experience in data visualization.
  • Experience with Revit, CAD, or equivalent tools. Further experience with respective APIs and model translation into real-time engines greatly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of emerging, advanced Digital Twin technologies, standards, system architectures, and design principles.
  • Documented experience with C# development and data-oriented design principles.
  • Experience with visualization, simulation, and real-time physics engine development platforms such as Omniverse, Unity, or Unreal
  • Experience with utilizing navigation meshes, data visualization techniques, dynamic object generation, and dynamic material generation in 3D engines.
  • Experience in 3D engines for non-gaming applications is greatly preferred and will be given priority.
  • Experience creating and designing UI/UX for 3D applications.
  • Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality distributed visualization and CAD translation.
  • Experience with LiDAR scanning to BIM workflows, or any other methods of scanning and digitizing the as built environment.
