The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our Information Technology (IT) Division. Do you want to have a part in helping to manage, sustain, and protect the health and productivity of Washington’s lands and waters to meet the needs of present and future generations? If so, join the DNR IT Division as a Network Administrator – Senior/Specialist. We’re seeking a Senior Network Administrator with the ability to work closely with customers and stakeholders, to work as part of a cohesive team, and to uphold a professional and positive demeanor while working under tight deadlines as priorities shift.
This role plays a key role in helping to create and shape the overall agency Network LAN/WAN strategic direction from both and architectural and implementation perspective. A key aspect of that work is building relationships and working collaboratively with ITD and agency staff to make modifications to our network infrastructure, training and support processes to align with that strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Architecture, design, implementation, and management of network infrastructure technologies
- IT Network Project Management and Support
- Resolve incidents and conduct root cause analysis of critical outages
- Wide Area Network (WAN) / Local Area Network (LAN)
- WAN Vendor Negotiations and Contract Management
- Perform routine maintenance duties to ensure optimization and security of network infrastructure
- Management of Next Generation Firewall (NFGW)
- Cloud Network Architect
Required Qualifications:
- BS in computer science or related field plus seven (7) years of experience in the following areas:
- Experience working with a medium or large sized organization in the areas of network and communications infrastructure and cloud infrastructure.
- Recent experience working in enterprise cloud and enterprise on-prem virtual environments.
- Experience creating detailed technical documentation and procedures.
OR a combination of education and/or experience equivalent.
