About the role

We're seeking a Founding Product Design Engineer ready to assume substantial responsibilities in our early-stage startup. This isn't just another design role. As one of the initial hires, alongside the CEO and a Full Stack Engineer, you will help shape the user interface and experience of our AI-driven platform. From conducting user research to information architecture, creating prototypes in Figma, and transforming those prototypes into a live, functional front-end product, your contributions will directly drive our mission to revolutionize the moving industry.

What you'll do

• Conduct user research to understand customer pain points and drive improvements in the moving process.
• Create information architecture and wireframes or prototypes using Figma.
• Translate prototypes into a robust and user-friendly front-end product.
• Own the front-end development, collaborating closely with the CEO and Full Stack Engineer to ensure seamless integration with the back-end functionality.
• Create and evolve our design system to ensure a consistent and attractive user interface.

What we're seeking

Must haves

• Strong proficiency in design tools such as Figma.
• Experience in conducting user research, creating information architecture, and building prototypes.
• Proven track record of translating designs into a functional, front-end product.
• Familiarity with front-end languages, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Direct, straightforward communication style, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly.
• Ability to work independently, make informed decisions swiftly, and tackle challenges head-on.
• Aspiration to be a startup founder someday.

Nice to haves

• Experience working with modern front-end frameworks such as React.
• Experience working in a startup or dynamic high-growth environment.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge or interest in AI and machine learning.
