Systems Integrator

The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 74,000 pilots at 42 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an experienced Systems Integrator for our McLean, Virginia, office. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Integrator to join our team as a SQL DBA and SharePoint/Teams Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining SQL databases and ensuring their availability, security, and optimal performance. Additionally, you will oversee the administration and maintenance of our Microsoft SharePoint and Teams platforms, enabling efficient collaboration and communication across the Association.

Key Responsibilities include SQL database administration and design and development, including security and optimization; SharePoint and Teams administration, including solutions collaboration; and, systems integration and collaboration, supporting streamlined data integrations, within a team of highly dedicated professionals.

Travel: 5 - 10%.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area, e.g., computer science with a specialization in computer science, information systems, or a related field, from an accredited college or university required; master's degree or completion of post-graduate courses in related field preferred; or, the equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Proven SQL DBA experience including performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server administration, database design, and development.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams administration and customization.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
  • Knowledge of data integration techniques and tools, such as SSIS, is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of information security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Five (5) years of experience, as well as experience with integrating technologies, ten (10) or more strongly preferred. At management discretion, significant and in-depth, directly applicable, experience may be substituted for some of the above requirements.
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server, PowerShell, Azure, and O365.
  • Experience with Aptify and/or Lawson strongly preferred.
  • Experience with internet and web application design/development preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Able to exercise initiative with professional maturity and sound judgment and be capable of independent decision-making.
  • Possesses strong time management skills; able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment; and transition easily between projects.

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the office and travel locally and nationally; international travel may be required infrequently. Also includes occasional bending, stooping, squatting, and/or pushing and pulling or moving, e.g., to pack, unpack, and/or move cases.

Occasionally required to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve binders, books, boxes, and files up to ten (10) pounds (lbs.). While on travel, may be responsible to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve luggage weighing as much as fifty (50) lbs. (Assistance may not always be available.)
