Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

Brivo is looking for a highly creative, passionate, and skilled Senior Software Engineer to design and develop new web services for a global security system serving millions of users. Core Systems is responsible for Brivo’s high volume public API, user and hardware facing systems. As part of the Brivo Core Systems team, you will work with people who are dedicated to creating a great customer experience, are focused on quality and resiliency in every aspect of their work, and are constantly seeking to learn and improve. You will also be expected to:

• Spend 80-90% of your time writing code and designing solutions
• Work with team leads to support the company’s mission through architectural and technical improvement
• Participate in code reviews and other team ceremonies; comfortable in a Scrum-like environment
• Work with product owners to deliver new features to production
• Along with your team, take ownership of the applications you work on
• Work within an Agile team to complete code reviews, sprint planning, and backlog grooming

About You

• 5+ years experience with Java and Spring in developing complex web applications that scale securely and responsively
• Strong foundation in web applications and services with modern software architecture
• Experience with the following:
  • REST API development and RESTful Web development with JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Jenkins Pipelines or other complex build solutions
  • Front-end technologies and frameworks such as JavaScript, Node.js, and React
  • Writing SQL queries and interacting with databases
  • Modern authentication mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
  • AWS technologies
  • Kubernetes, and Docker a plus
  • DevOps automation processes a plus
