Lead Software Developer - Job Description

Location: Chester, PA – Not a Remote Position

We are looking for an experienced product-oriented Lead Software Developer to provide vision, leadership, and hands on support for developing and implementing technology initiatives and products. The Lead Software Developer will be responsible for making key decisions on designing systems and ensuring technology is effectively deployed to the customer to enable the Company’s growth.

The Lead Software Developer is a hand-on project leader responsible for the engineering team, which consists of development and Quality Assurance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage development of products in the most cost-effective manner within our high-quality standards.
  • Oversee our product development team to attain maximum efficiency in the design and production of our children focused products and internal systems.
  • Participate as a member of the senior management team and work with stakeholders to develop a clear technology vision and road map for the company.
  • Direct activities so that projects are developed on schedule and within quality standards, cost objectives and meet current market demands.
  • Review, analyze and approve the department’s operational and project budgets.
  • Evaluate and approve new headcount, hiring, and employee performance.
  • Drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives.
  • Lead strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all products.
  • Communicate the company’s technology strategy to investors, management, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experiences

Systems Developer Skills:

  • 5+ years of professional programming experience
  • Proficient in Visual Studio with C#
  • MVC Pattern
  • Web Services / WCF / Web API & Azure
  • Windows Embedded / IoT experience
  • SQL Server 2008+, SQL Server Management Studio
  • XAML
  • LINQ
  • Entity Framework
  • WPF - Windows Presentation Foundation
  • Four-year college diploma or university degree in software engineering or computer science
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing project teams.
  • Windows image configuration experience
  • Experiencing integrating with 3rd party software / drivers
  • Windows Embedded 11 experience
  • PowerShell / scripting tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • JSON, XML
  • DevOps, Azure Experience
  • HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, REST
  • Experience in deploying and configuring web-based applications
  • Java, XML
  • DevExpress XAF
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

Must Have:

  • Four-year college diploma or university degree in software engineering or computer science
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing project teams
