The Chamber is looking for a C-Suite executive to lead the organization through a period of significant growth. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience growing an early stage, fast growing organization to the next level with some government relations or trade association experience.

Reporting to the CEO and collaborating with the CFO, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide day-to-day operational management and leadership to the staff and key partners of the Chamber. Building on a strong foundation of membership, policy expertise, and thought leadership, the COO will oversee the execution of the yearly business plan, focus on getting things done and have complete control over the “how”.

While open to candidates across the United States, this position necessitates establishment of a base in Washington, D.C. within the first three (3) months. This position will involve travel of about 4-8 days per month throughout the US.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer on all matters related to the business
• Oversee and manage the policy, marketing, member services and human resources functions
• Develop and implement strategies, procedures, infrastructure and business plans needed to enhance company growth
• Collaborate with the executive team to set company performance goals and annual budgets

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience leading an organization through rapid growth
• Experience at a trade association or other relevant public policy business
• Mission and results driven, with a track record of demonstrating motivation and leading others
• Ability to be nimble, with strong business management skills and able to reprioritize as necessary
• Able to both lead initiatives and collaborate with a team to harness the collective ideas of others
• Demonstrated success as a leader and a manager
• Ability and passion to learn new things
• High degree of comfort assuming leadership of a startup from its founder
• High degree of interest in the cryptocurrency and blockchain technology ecosystem
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed
