For our North American headquarters, located in La Mirada, California, we have an immediate opening for a Web Development Manager.

Summary

The Web Development Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of the internet development team and is ultimately responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of all company websites, e-commerce websites, web applications and web related product applications while ensuring strong optimization, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility (including mobile) and functionality. This position has an in-depth understanding of the web development lifecycle and be able to communicate project statuses, issues, resolutions and make recommended improvements as necessary.

This position will be a subject matter expert in standard concepts, practices, and procedures for designing and creating innovative and interactive web applications using the latest standards, testing them on various devices, and enhancing and modifying them as necessary to ensure the best experience for the end-user.

A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Stays abreast of standards and industry changes in software and hardware upgrades and regularly informs leadership, so that IQAir stays up-to-date on all platforms.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with senior management and all IQAir department heads to develop and organize innovative site maps, architecture and interaction flows to support each department’s strategies.
• Lead the internet development team to build and refine functionality for web applications, developing websites from initial installation through configuration and theming.
• Participate as an active team member on a fast-paced development schedule.
• Analyze, review and modify web applications by maintaining, documenting, testing, developing and monitoring ongoing work within the department.
• Create customized objects to meet specific business needs
• Develop innovative, reusable Web-based tools for our line of air purifier products
• Develop custom code and scripts to support custom customer functionality in Microsoft Dynamics and Business Central, IQAir’s CRM/ERP systems.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Project Manager and other members of the Development Team to both develop detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines, and to ensure timely completion of deliverables
• Produce project estimates during R&D process, including expertise required, total number of people required, total number of development hours required, etc
• Determine appropriate architecture and other technical solutions and make relevant recommendations to R&D and IT teams
• Communicate to the Project Manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays. Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide high value-of-service to clients
• Alert subordinates and relevant colleagues to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities
• Attend meetings during the R&D process and during development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related Software Engineering field.
• Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in written form
• 8+ years of web application development experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in technical team management experience
• 3+ years technology team lead experience in an Agile / Scrum environment
• Superior Microsoft .NET Framework environment skills (including: Visual Studio, C#)
• Strong knowledge of web server architecture & infrastructure
• Proficiency in Angular JS, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, Javascript, JQuery, Node.js, JSON, Ajax, Bootstrap, SASS, XML, SQL, REST, GO, React, GraphQL, TypeScript etc.
• Knowledge of difference in web behavior across multiple device platforms (Windows vs MacOS, chrome vs safari, mobile vs desktop)
• Knowledge of project management software such as Basecamp, MS Project, Jira, Wrike etc
• Familiarity with Google applications such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Pagespeed Insights, Google Search Console etc.
• Excellent knowledge of Drupal 8 and/or 9 CMS development
• Excellent knowledge of Third party integration, CRM/ERP development and/or integration is a plus
• Microsoft Dynamics & Business Central experience is a plus
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Excel & Word
• Strong knowledge of web server architecture & infrastructure
• Familiarity with 508 compliance standards, internationalization skills, and mastery of variations on web platforms are a must
• Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen
