Developer, Mobile Center of Excellence

The primary responsibility of this position is to design, develop and support mobile applications that run on various mobile platforms. The incumbent in this position will put his/her technical acumen, passion, and creativity to work for creating cutting-edge mobile experiences that will effectively serve and engage IEEE’s vast customer base.

The Mobile Center of Excellence is part of the IT Strategy and Enabling Technologies (ITSET) team, which is responsible for defining and executing IT strategy and enabling technology used in support of IEEE's mission of fostering technological innovation and excellence. As a member of this dynamic team, one will be afforded plenty of opportunity to broaden his/her professional horizon by participating in technology-driven innovation, workplace digitalization, enterprise architecture, cloud engineering, and technology standardization/rationalization activities.

An individual in this position reports to the Director of Innovation, Digitalization, and Mobile Center of Excellence and functions as an individual contributor.


Education

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or higher in Computer Science or related field preferred or equivalent experience Req.

Work Experience

* Less than 2 years of recent, related work experience (in academic and/or industry settings) Pref.

Licenses and Certifications

* Certification in relevant mobile technologies Upon Hire Pref.

Skills and Requirements

* Knowledge of at least one Mobile applications development platform such as Android, iOS, and/or Hybrid Mobile development stacks required.

* Hands-on experience with implementing Front-end applications using JavaScript (jQuery/Angular/ReactJS/Backbone), HTML5, and CSS3 technologies preferred.

* Ability to perform in a team environment.

* Familiarity in implementation of continuous build and delivery of Mobile Applications preferred.

* Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.

* Familiarity with AWS services, such as Lambdas, is preferred.

* Applicants must be prepared to demonstrate any mobile applications they have previously developed.
