* This position is eligible to report to one of the PTC's regional offices: Central Office (Middletown, PA), Eastern Regional Office (King of Prussia, PA) or Western Regional Office (New Stanton, PA).

Job Purpose and Summary

This position is responsible for journey-level technical work as a member of one of the various areas of specialization within the Information Technology (IT) Department. Work involves participating and performing work of varying levels for the assigned unit with an increasing degree of complexity. Work is primarily performed with independence and reviewed by a supervisor or higher-level specialist for attainment of program goals, completion of projects and overall performance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Participates on project teams. Participates in all aspects of departmental project/program life-cycles including planning, specification, design, installation, deployment, integration, operations, support, testing, policy development and compliance reporting.
  • Responds to end user incidents, requests and support calls. Provides technical assistance by troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving concerns.
  • Develops and maintains specifications, Business Process Procedures (BPPs), user manuals and other documentation.
  • Analyzes and documents changes to software, networks and/or systems to support the organization’s business processes and/or programs. Participates in the configuration and implementation of changes.
  • Participates and supports the preparation, development, execution and validation of test scripts and the testing process. Coordinates with other business units to accomplish successful implementation of changes.
  • Deploys and administers updates for basic servers, systems, equipment, networks, devices and programs.
  • Creates or maintains security profiles and systems. Reviews access to sensitive application objects, transactions and data. Works with the appropriate staff to ensure issues involving application security get resolved.
  • Creates reports and uses report variants to produce repeatable reports with specific user criteria.
  • Monitors various systems and programs to ensure proper operation and compliance. Identifies and resolves issues and security threats/incidents found.
  • Performs necessary departmental documentation, administrative tasks and internal outreach efforts as needed.
  • Gathers information from various departments and determines how to best support the needs of end users. Monitors business systems and business processes to identify, research and recommend opportunities for improvements.
  • Utilizes software and/or technology tools to perform job duties.
  • Uses situational awareness to anticipate and prevent accidents.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or closely related field. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.
  • Certain units may prefer specialized training and/or certifications.

Minimum Experience

  • Twelve (12) months as an EBS Programs Specialist or IT Support Analyst with the PTC

OR

  • Four (4) years of experience in the information technology field.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Position demands include frequent speaking, writing and reading reports. Position requires frequent work at a computer utilizing business programs and PTC specific operating systems. Occasionally works outside of normal business hours for assigned work assignments.

Office environment with low levels of noise, adequate lighting and comfortable temperature. Field environment may include exposure to moderately adverse and undesirable conditions. Physical environment is generally safe, but safety equipment or precautions must be followed in field conditions.
