The Grants Manager works to establish and reach major fundraising goals on behalf of CodePath. The Grants Manager will be responsible for collaboratively building a deeper understanding of the philanthropic communities in which CodePath works, and creating and managing effective stewardship processes that fuel ongoing commitment among our donors.

You’ll be a fit for the role if you have strong project management skills, thrive in a dynamic environment, can pivot quickly, and operate with a strong customer service orientation.

If you have career aspirations in fundraising, this position will be a great opportunity to learn in a growing organization and build your fundraising muscle in grants management, donor stewardship, and fundraising strategy, while cross-collaborating to meet ambitious goals.

What’s the job like?

  • You will collaborate with other departments to write proposals describing our past, present, and planned activities
  • You will compile materials for funders on impact, reach, and organizational health
  • You will document and organize all funder communications and materials
  • You will compile budgets and financial reports for funders
  • You will respond to funders’ questions about a proposal
  • You will document a grant’s impact at the conclusion of a project
  • You will research detailed lists, databases, and donor websites to identify grants that match our objectives

Key Activities

In partnership with the CodePath leadership team, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with CEO, Director of Development, and the Operations, Programs, Finance, and Marketing teams to gather data and key information required in grant proposals and reports
  • Tell the CodePath story through writing inspiring grant proposals, grant reports, and external collateral
  • Research and synthesize donor data using a variety of sources to develop excellent donor briefs and proposals
  • Synthesize CodePath’s program and employment outcomes data in a clear and compelling way
  • Provide excellent customer service by troubleshooting grant and donor needs as they arise
  • Steward relationships with foundation partners, supporting funder meetings or facilitating site visits
  • Manage and improve efficient and smart systems through maintaining up to date activities, campaigns, opportunities and account information in Hubspot and Asana
  • Prepare pitch decks, assets and deliverables for use in compelling sizable corporate and foundation gifts
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of donor prospects to optimize fundraising opportunities

Requirements

Note: Research suggests that women and BIPOC individuals may self-select out of opportunities if they don’t meet 100% of the job requirements. We encourage individuals who believe they have the skills necessary to thrive at CodePath to apply for this role.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to CodePath’s mission, vision, and core values
  • 2-5 years of experience, preferably in a Grant Writer or Development Associate role
  • Bachelor's Degree in English or Communications, highly preferred
  • Knowledge of grant management terms and the different stages of prospecting donors
  • Experience with gathering, organizing, and verifying data a plus
  • Strong detail orientation and systems-thinking
  • Strong communication skills with a proven track record of consistently creating high-quality written materials that deliver desired outcomes
  • Effective relationship management skills that balance cultivating authentic relationships with the need to complete projects on deadline
  • Demonstrated data literacy skills to support the communication of CodePath’s impact and other grant reporting efforts

Benefits

We are committed to professional growth and fulfillment at work. Benefits include:

  • Medical insurance with dental and vision.
  • Generous time off with a flexible workplace and work schedule.
  • A commitment to developing leaders from within the organization.
  • Frequent opportunities to connect with students, universities, and communities we serve.
