Senior Software Architect

Position Summary

In this role, you will work closely with our product leadership, security team, and engineers to define, prioritize, and deliver a robust, highly available SaaS solution. You will be responsible for working with our security team to ensure software and data security standards for this SaaS solution align with security policy.

A successful person in this role will be able to comfortably wear multiple hats. They will be evangelizing across teams as a technical lead, pairing with other developers as a mentor, and going heads-down to craft clean, quality code as an individual contributor. This person enjoys working in a fast-paced agile environment, can tell good decisions from bad ones, and thrives on using technology to solve complex problems that add value to the team, our platform, and our customers.

This position is an individual contributor reporting to the VP of Engineering.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain platform services such that they can be deployed in both on-prem and cloud infrastructure configurations
• Design, develop and maintain modern web-based UI features and service integrations
• Improve scale and availability of backend platform services
• Deliver secure, scalable, and reusable enterprise-quality code
• Work with product and customer success teams to provide technical insight and influence roadmap, estimation, and prioritization discussions
• Mentor team members who are learning skills that you have mastered
• Help the Company be successful in any other way that your skillsets allow
• Contribute positive energy to the culture of the Company by collaborating in a positive, open, and respectful manner

Key Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other related engineering field, or comparable industry experience within a software organization
• 5+ years of professional experience developing enterprise-level, high-availability applications across the full development stack
• 5+ years with highly scalable, resilient, and performant AWS or Azure cloud native (PaaS)
• 5+ years of work experience of web technologies designs and implementation strategies
• Experience with React and JavaScript is required
• Must have a track record of building and deploying mission critical, highly distributed, large scale SaaS applications
• Must have experience with at least one major IaaS and/or PaaS technology (OpenStack, AWS, Azure, Heroku, etc.) including defining and scripting full topologies (Infrastructure as a service, Platform as a Service)
• Experience in architecting for SaaS applications and cloud-based applications. DevOps, security, scalability, and performance tuning
• Experience applying automated testing tools and techniques in a SaaS environment
• Awareness and understanding of data security and privacy. Experience in SOC2 compliance desired
• Demonstrated experience in full lifecycle of transforming high volume, high availability, large, complex mission critical platforms (concept to implementation) in a cloud native environment (AWS/Azure, microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, API Gateway, and event-driven architecture)
• Strong knowledge of failure modes, resiliency patterns, and techniques to enable robust, self-healing architecture
• Excellent communication skills
