Position Summary:
University Communications and Marketing is looking for a Web Site Administrator to join our University Web Communications team. This group provides various web services, including website creation and management, to multiple areas across the university.

The individual we are looking for will serve as a project team lead focusing on various UNM websites. A successful candidate should possess strong project management skills and web design experience. This position will lead the coordination and management of institutional websites and departmental websites managed under our web shared services agreements. This individual will collaborate closely with the leadership, marketing, and communications teams of the various departments. This coordination will require an ability to organize and prioritize various types of requests and tasks, as well as an ability to assign and delegate duties to the team. The successful candidate will be able to track hours for individual clients and multiple projects accurately. The candidate must be comfortable in a consulting role, interacting with clients regularly. The candidate should have excellent time management, project management, and communication skills.

Primary Duties/Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee the management of High-Level UNM websites and all websites managed under shared services agreements.
  • Manage departmental relationships
  • Oversee website projects
  • Write standards-compliant HTML, CSS, and JS
  • Develop and maintain Multiple Websites using Cascade Server, WordPress, and other tools.
  • Work with clients to design and update existing websites using appropriate technical solutions while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in small team environments with minimal supervision
  • Responds to email and service requests from departments in a timely manner
  • Evaluate larger requests to provide time estimates to departments
  • Instructs, assigns work and functionally supervises staff or student employees engaged in similar work activities.

Required Skills:

  • At least 5 years experience programming HTML, JS, XML, XSL, and CSS.
  • Proven project management experience
  • At least 5 years of experience using Adobe Creative Suite to create mockups and edit web images/graphics.
  • A strong understanding of Web Accessibility (WCAG & Section 508)
  • Superior knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques
  • Experience in planning website information architecture
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various constituencies in a diverse community.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience with content management systems
  • Familiarity with Hannon Hill Cascade Server, WordPress
  • Familiarity with Anthology Encompass Alumni platform
  • Experience with Apache Velocity templating language
  • Experience with JavaScript templating such as Mustache.js, Vue.js, etc.
  • Experience working the web APIs and JSON data sources
  • Ability to work in a team and to communicate in a straightforward way to provide training to staff, faculty, students, and collaborators
  • Demonstrated project management, problem-solving and organizational skills to effectively manage numerous priorities, deadlines, and necessary resources simultaneously and on time.
