ASAE helps associations, and the professionals who lead, manage, and work in them, transform society through the power of collaboration. We are looking for someone to join our team as the Director, Website Strategies. The Director of Website Strategies is responsible for ensuring that the primary organizational websites are developed in alignment and support of the organizations overall strategic direction. The position reports to the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and resides in the communications department. It requires ongoing collaboration with marketing, editorial. However, to effectively deploy and manage the work, it also requires an understanding and collaboration with information technology and working with the CIO regarding mobile initiatives.
The position requires frequent analysis of quantitative and qualitative input from members and other stakeholders in order to ensure web properties are supporting the business objectives and mission of the organization. Additionally, the position works closely with other members of the web team are to ensure they are in alignment with the ASAEs strategic direction and employing website design and development effective practices.
Essential Functions

- Ensure the strategic direction of the organizational websites support the organizations strategy. This includes websites for ASAE, the ASAE Foundation, different stakeholder groups such as Industry Partners, as well as 7 major meeting websites.
- Ensure the web team is developing the sites according to the strategic direction and current effective practices.
- Work closely with the CMCO, CIO, web team and other departments to develop and implement a mobile strategy that reflects ASAEs strategic direction.
- Establishes and manages the budgets for the websites and ASAEs mobile app.
- Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis on the performance of the websites in order to refine and extend the web strategy and ensure web efforts are supporting the business objectives and mission of the organization.
- Manage relationship with website vendor and, as needed, manage key projects such as major redesign initiatives.
- Conduct requirements gathering across the organization to understand internal stakeholder needs.
- Work closely with the marketing and editorial teams to ensure the websites and meetings apps are reflecting the organizations communications and marketing strategies as well as the organizations content strategy.
Essential Skills
- Broad understanding of all aspects of web design including but not limited to SEO, effective design practices, database structure, security, DNS, hosting, content management systems, requirements gathering and project management is essential.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises the ASAE web team.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Required Education and Experience
- Experience with Google Analytics, ForeSee, and Sitecore CMS a plus.
- Successful candidate will have 7-10 years experience managing web projects, teams, and strategies.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
