Our Product & Team:

GitLens is an open-source extension for VS Code – the most popular Git extension on the VS Code marketplace. GitLens supercharges Git inside VS Code and unlocks untapped knowledge within each repository. About the Role:

As our GitLens product continues to experience tremendous growth, we’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design and build innovative features. As a full-stack engineer on the GitLens team, you’ll work in the open on GitHub, alongside our CTO to create an industry-leading experience for the most popular Git extension on the VS Code marketplace. You will be expected to thoughtfully and respectfully engage with the GitLens open-source community – from triaging issues, requesting and incorporating feedback, to reviewing and working with the community on pull requests.

What you'll bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Development experience with Javascript/TypeScript: Node.js, build and bundling tools such as Webpack and esbuild.
  • UI Front-End development experience: web platform (HTML, CSS, Web APIs), web-components preferably or component-based libraries.
  • Experience with Git
  • Ability to thrive in a remote environment with asynchronous communication
  • Knowledge or experience developing VS Code extensions is a big plus
  • Experience working on open-source software is a plus
