The Role:

GitKraken is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join our growing team. We’re based in Scottsdale, AZ with EU offices in Spain. While we would prefer this person to be located in Scottsdale/Phoenix, Arizona to take advantage of a hybrid in-person / remote work environment, we are 100% open to candidates from across the US. The exact title and compensation for this role will be determined based on expertise and track record.

The finance team plays a critical role at GitKraken. Finance is often the language of business, and we are looking for professional, organized, and committed individuals who can integrate across diverse teams, operate in structured and unstructured environments, and help guide the financial operations of our company. As the Revenue Accountant you will be a key member of the finance team, reporting to the VP of Finance.

What you’ll do:

• Manage multiple revenue streams and pull together timely reporting to accurately and timely prepare monthly revenue recognition and deferred revenue entries
• Perform month-end close tasks such as manual revenue waterfalls for revenue recognition and def revenue
• Perform reconciliations as necessary to ensure accurate GAAP reporting
• Own the ARM (Advanced Revenue Management) in NetSuite, ensuring all integrations are working correctly and accurately recording revenue and deferred revenue
• Review monthly transaction reports, reconciling back to payments for revenue streams that are being manually reported
• Maintain process documentation for areas of responsibility
• Identify areas for process improvement and develop automated workflows to increase efficiency
• Maintain an understanding of the company products and programs (new and existing) relative to their impact on revenue transactions and the application of ASC 606
• Support audit requests for areas of responsibility
• Perform special projects and analysis as needed

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum of 2 years experience using NetSuite and the ARM module is required
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills utilizing professional skepticism
• Proficient in researching accounting literature and performing technical analysis
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively, with consistent adherence to deadlines
• Ability to work independently, leveraging available tools and resources
• Ability to plan out projects/tasks into clearly defined executable steps
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g. complex formulas, pivots)
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (or equivalent work experience)
• Detailed understanding of ASC 606 and working knowledge of US GAAP
• SaaS experience preferred

Location:

GitKraken is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona and we would love to have this person be local to our main office for a hybrid approach of remote & in-office work.
