Amherst is looking for a Product Manager to lead our Underwriting-aligned squad and serve as a key member of the Product Team to ensure customer and business expectations are satisfied while identifying innovative opportunities to stay ahead of the curve. This role will work closely with both Acquisitions & Asset Management / Revenue Management leadership teams and the Tech squad (Project Managers, Engineering, Analysts) to drive the product roadmap, identify and fill product gaps, implement new product features and automation, and become an expert in the real estate industry. This is a remote position. Amherst is constantly adding to a growing portfolio of 40,000+ single-family assets across 26 markets (and counting). These properties are sourced through a variety of acquisition channels, both on- and off-market. Each opportunity is priced in Amherst’s proprietary underwriting tool to produce high-confidence performance estimates for year one and beyond. Our underwriting tool is now strategically positioned to expand its value to serve as the pricing engine for revenue management workflows well beyond an asset’s initial acquisition lifecycle. This Product Manager will drive key strategies needed for years to come in order to scale and optimize all underwriting business processes, as well as drive the technology vision for new strategies beyond single-family assets.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Tech-savvy. You are bilingual in both tech and business speak and can translate for those who do not speak both. You love to solve difficult problems with technology solutions.
  • A Real Pro. From concept to delivery, rolling out new and innovative products is your thing!
  • Passionate about Real Estate. When you're working on something related to this industry, you might lose track of time because you're so engaged in it. The subject itself excites you, and no one and nothing has to remind you to keep learning about it.
  • Intellectually Curious. You are a detective, with a keen interest in solving both business problems and continuously looking to self-improve professionally. You strive for best practices and explore trends/experiments to improve the status quo.
  • A Creative Problem Solver. You have a propensity for getting to the root cause of issues and can think strategically, logically and outside the box to solve problems for the business and customer.
  • Hard Working. You aren’t afraid of a tough deadline and are hyper-focused on ideation, discovery, and execution to build the right things and with speed.
  • Meticulous. Highly structured, disciplined, and take pride in your work.
  • Team Player. You put the business success first, are fun to work with and have a high degree of personal character and integrity.
  • Strong public speaker. You are naturally effective at demonstrating your product, explaining key features, presenting strategic roadmaps, and reiterating problem statements both to business partners and engineers alike.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Identify product needs and define a product roadmap for our Acquisitions Underwriting team that enables a scalable and automated pricing business process for both our acquisitions and post-acquisitions workstreams, powered by best-in-class data & analytics.
  • Understand the Acquisitions lifecycle and the downstream complexities of the data your product will feed to connected systems and all other business units within Amherst.
  • Strong focus on owning and automating business processes and workflows, and finding opportunities for efficiency, and delivering an exceptional experience to the customer (internal).
  • Build dashboards and reports to help business stakeholders prioritize initiatives, outline deficiencies and highlight progress.
  • Recommend changes to our Underwriting tool, to Acquisitions data processes, and overall business process with a goal to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Help define and prioritize the overall Developer Organization’s product roadmap based on business/customer ROI by identifying gaps, optimizing the current product features, and uncovering new opportunities through user testing, market research, and customer feedback.
  • Collect continuous feedback and measure to help evolve the product, providing support in developing a culture of continuous innovation.
  • Leverage agile sprint best practices to deliver a high-quality product through a systematic product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally between tech and internal stakeholders to provide the product vision while ensuring business objectives are prioritized and met.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
