Description:

FULLY REMOTE

• Systems Engineer supports a large-scale Distributed Infrastructure, providing technical leadership in problem solving, maintenance, and project build situations, formulating solutions for improvement, and working with peers to establish a strategic direction for the environment.
• This position will install, maintain, and configure systems infrastructure on both on prem and Cloud platforms.
• Lead the team and collaborate with other professionals to ensure high quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Set and manage work process, optimization methods, and risk management tools in the given projects for the successful accomplishments according to the requirements of the stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Masters Degree required/ PhD preferred plus more than 12 years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering; or comparable industry experience.

• Hands-on, proven expertise with developing technical solutions involving multiple applications to solve business and production needs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in working within teams and among stakeholders. Expertise in Linux, MacOS, and/or Windows systems administration in a professional environment.

• Expert knowledge and ability to set the standards for managing cloud based solutions using VMware, AWS, GCP, and/or Kubernetes. Vast experience with LDAP, DNS, SSO, MDM, SMTP, system performance-monitoring tools, virtualization, HTTP, email routing and administration, interacting with REST APIs for application integration and automation, and familiarity with authentication standards.

• Expert knowledge and ability to set the strategy in working with Python and other scripting languages such as bash, Perl, etc.

• Expert knowledge and ability to set the strategy for Git or other version control systems.

• Expert knowledge and ability to set the strategy to work in query and visualize data using tools like Grafana, Kibana, and/or ElasticSearch. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Expert understanding of TCP/IP networks, troubleshooting, and related technologies.

• Strong, demonstrated skills in the following at a minimum: AWS, Chef, Docker, Terraform, F5, Couchbase, Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, ElasticSearch, Rabbit MQ, Angular.js, Node.js, Spring/Java, Rundeck.

• Required knowledge and understanding of technical architecture, application systems design and integration in a large heterogeneous enterprise environment.

• Experienced systems engineer eager to join a DevOps cultured Systems Engineering team.

• Primary responsibilities include provisioning and supporting web and mobile ecommerce applications and infrastructure for a large scale enterprise environment.

• Expertise in Terraform, Chef, Nimbus, F5, Akamai, Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, Memcache, Redis, ElasticSearch and Rabbit MQ

• Ability to guide others and set the strategy for engineering and systems engineering operations. Encompass a strong development background in one or more languages. Must possess expert level writing automation using Chef, ansible, terraform or other SCM tools

• Expert knowledge and ability to guide and set the strategy for Git or similar distributed version control systems as well as with Continuous Integration/Deployment techniques.

• Ability to lead and set the strategy for troubleshooting applications and systems using various technologies such as Appdynamics, New Relic, Graphite and Logstash or Splunk.

• Above all, you must have a passion for new and emerging technology and a constant drive of curiosity. This position works closely with various business Engineering and Production teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide stellar customer support.

• Set the strategy for work done with infrastructure and platform capabilities - container, middleware, messaging, routing components.

• Perform and set the strategy for the development of customized software and hardware requirements.
