Senior Product Manager

Work Location: Onsite - Arlington, VA

Our community is growing and so is the impact of our work to move toward a society where everyone has the opportunity to succeed by benefitting others. We're looking for a Product Manager to work with our community of social entrepreneurs to understand the biggest barriers facing their organizations and invent new products to help those organizations have an even greater impact on their customers.

The Stand Together community works with the country's boldest and most innovative social changemakers to empower people to realize their potential. We believe we all benefit when everyone can contribute. We work across the political spectrum and focus on some of our country's biggest issues, such as breaking the cycle of poverty, criminal justice reform, immigration, economic recovery, and equal rights (plus so much more!). We recently hired a new CTO, and this role will be a founding member of our startup product capability to catalyze change in society with technology.

As a Product Manager, you will collaborate with internal business stakeholders, external development partners, and our network of non-profits to develop a high-level concept of the product and lead it all the way through technical delivery in a fast-paced Agile environment. A typical day can include everything from a site visit to a non-profit helping to educate the incarcerated, to working with an external design firm to brainstorm innovative solutions, to presenting your work to the leadership team.

To thrive in this role, you will have experience in being highly entrepreneurial – executing the entire project lifecycle from ideation to project management

Your Responsibilities Include

  • Take product through the entire product lifecycle from conception to shipping.
  • Drive customer discovery, user stories, market research, and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities for product solutions.
  • Translate product vision into objectives and partner with developers to articulate alternatives for technical solutions. Design disciplined, meaningful experiments with well-defined success criteria.
  • Iterate on a product to find product-market-fit based on user feedback and customer insights.
  • Use agile development frameworks and utilize standard software platforms such Jira for product delivery.
  • Leverage change management practices to facilitate customer adoption of products and measure success.
  • Communicate technical product development information to non-technical audience effectively so stakeholders have the information they need to make sound business decisions.

Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Ability to build wireframes, and experience in building high-fidelity mockups.
  • Experience in Python and Java coding
  • Ability to invent novel product ideas from customer problems.
  • Experience in building a platform product, especially a social network or CRM.
