This position has a hybrid schedule - 2 days in-office/3 days remote.

The Senior Analyst, IT Systems (SA) is a member of the Information Technology (IT) team and will be based in Schusterman’s Washington DC, New York NY, or Atlanta GA office. The SA will primarily support the technology needs of the operating programs as well as the grantmaking teams in their use of Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, FormAssembly and related technologies. The SA will work in concert with their teammates across Schusterman offices in the U.S. and Israel to take a holistic approach to the common technology needs of our grantmaking and operating programs teams’ needs. The SA will also support other teams within Schusterman as needed. This is a hands-on position which reports to the Director, IT Philanthropy Systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Platform Evolution (50%)

Outcome: Manages and develops multiple technology projects using an array of appropriate tools (Includes Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, FormAssembly, and DemandTools) for stakeholders with minimal oversight. Included in this role:

  • Codes and/or configures the system to meet the documented needs.
  • Tests new development to ensure stable deployments of custom configuration and code.
  • Clearly communicates progress, risks, issues, and delivery to the relevant stakeholders throughout the life of the project.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for any associated standard operating procedures and maintenance needs.
  • Assists with the development of training for end-users.

Direct Support to Programs and Events (40%)

Outcome: Takes a time sensitive and service-oriented approach to resolving problems for stakeholders.

  • Trains staff members in tools and technology as needed.
  • May oversee day-to-day work of Technology Assistants and Associates, if applicable, and train them in technology platforms.
  • May oversee day-to-day work of vendors supporting applications through managed services contracts.
  • Designs and implements a wide variety of data collection forms using appropriate tools and repeatable processes.

IT Strategic Planning, data governance and data management (10%)

Outcome: Contributes to strategic initiatives as a subject matter and systems expert

  • Is proactive in identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement in the technology space.
  • Develops in-depth understanding of the organization’s data, contributing to data governance, data management, mining, scrubbing, and reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are representative of the high level of demonstrated skills, maturity, judgement, and ability to work with a wide range of constituencies required of Schusterman employees:

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional technical experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience.
  • Strong understanding of systems-thinking and capable of developing, documenting, and implementing repeatable processes.
  • Demonstrable experience using and managing information systems as an administrator and/or developer. Salesforce and Marketing Cloud experience is required, as is FormAssembly or an equivalent web form tool.
  • Experience using a relational database including an understanding of how to write SQL queries and handle results in various formats.
  • Demonstrable experience refining requirements from end users and product owners while creating technical solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting the development of training for end users.
  • Experience with Fluxx (or other grantmaking platform) preferred.
  • Experience managing GDPR compliance and other data privacy regulations, strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience with programs, events, and grants in a nonprofit/philanthropy environment preferred.
  • Strong ability and willingness to quickly gain expertise in new technologies.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills necessary to develop cooperative working relationships with supervisory personnel, co-workers, program participants, grantees, and the public.
  • A high degree of flexibility to achieve organizational objectives and meet its demands/needs required, including the ability to participate in local and remote meetings and phone calls outside typical U.S. business hours in order to support the organization’s international team.
  • Possesses sound judgement, knowing when to escalate an issue and understanding who needs to be involved in a decision.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% domestically, and internationally upon occasion.

COMPENSATION

Competitive salary band of $95,000 - $145,000 based on experience and Schusterman’s commitment to internal equity. A strong benefits package is also included. Schusterman encourages ongoing professional development and supports activities aligned with one’s individual career growth plan. Schusterman does not cover relocation expenses for this position.
