Due to our continued growth, we are adding a Software Engineer II to our team. The Engineer is part of a collaborative team of technology professionals that drive the design and evolution of state-of-the-art internal and external applications that make the business faster and more effective. This role will design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for enhancements and new products. This role determines hardware compatibility as well as influences hardware design. This role reports to the Manager of Development.
Essential Functions:
- Leads and facilitates business requirements and translates them into technical designs and stories
- Writes, modifies, and debugs Java code using the Spring Framework to support customer-facing and internal applications under broad direction
- Create unit testing code to provide automated code coverage.
- Responsible to create and maintain documentation for new and existing Java language code bases.
- Create or modify RDBS tables, triggers, stored procedures, and views according to architectural specifications.
- May supervise the work of engineers or others who assist in specific assignments and work jointly with other engineers.
- Advise and review documentation for API endpoints.
- Creates and follows implementation plans for new IT systems and integration with existing systems.
- Adheres to standard technical operating procedures and design and testing best practices.
- Works in coordination with other technical teams to achieve synergistic outcomes for the organization.
- Capable of productive interface with internal/external customers
- Makes significant contributions to department goals and planning efforts.
- 5+ years in a progressive technology development role, with 3 or more years of technical design experience in HTML and Java toolsets. (Java, MySQL, Git)
- 3 or more years using Agile/Scrum methodology fundamentals
- Has the ability to take ownership of workstream tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
- Identifies opportunities for innovation and offers new ideas. Takes the initiative to experiment with new software frameworks
- Fluent in Agile/Scrum methodology
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 5+ years in a progressive technology development role, with 3 or more years of technical design experience in HTML and Java toolsets. (Java, MySQL, Git)
- 3 or more years using Agile/Scrum methodology fundamentals
- Has the ability to take ownership of workstream tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary

Education:
