Development Manager, Systems and Administration
Position Overview
The Development Manager, Systems and Administration provides systems and administrative management for the Development Department, supporting the development team in relation to individual and institutional giving and events, and ensuring that the department is collecting and utilizing its data and systems efficiently to realize annual revenue goals of over $10M. This position reports to the VP, Advancement.
This is a full-time union-represented position subject to terms of the Museum’s agreement with Local 2110, UAW, and is eligible for the New Museum’s employee benefits programs. Starting salary begins at $58,349.50 commensurate with experience. Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm.The position is temporarily hybrid.
Responsibilities
Data Systems
- Manage systems, databases, and IT application functionalities for department: Raiser’s Edge/RENXT (advanced proficiency required), Acme, Cuseum, Asana
- Conduct and support establishment of Queries, Imports, Exports, Reports for department (crystal reports a plus)
- Enter and track donor, prospect, and funder data, tracking, and analytics; present reports to development team
- Manage event RSVP and list management systems for development events
- Maintain institutional action dates in database; ensure deadlines met
- Manage institutional registrations and renewals
- Organize reporting, gathering data, drafting, and submitting
- Conduct prospect research for a range of donors to maximize donor and funder capacity / potential
- Prepare prospect, program participant, and new member analytics
- Implement best database practices to support identification of donors, data use, and analysis
- Oversee and execute gift processing and gift acknowledgements
- Prepare materials for annual audits, data review, and annual set up in Raiser’s Edge, Acme, Cuseum, Asana
- Create department dashboards and NXT workplaces
- Provide additional department support as needed, to support efficient processes, service, and patron engagement
Institutional Giving

Research and Analytics
- Conduct prospect research for a range of donors to maximize donor and funder capacity / potential

Department Administration

- Provide additional department support as needed, to support efficient processes, service, and patron engagement
Qualifications
Candidates should have a minimum of three to six years’ experience in database systems management, with advanced proficiency working with Raiser’s Edge/ RENXT and be adept at queries, importing, exporting, and reporting functions, with knowledge of payment platforms and plug-in interfaces. Keen attention to detail, high-level organizational skills, strong follow through and project management, ability to work independently, as well as strong communication skills and aptitude for anticipating staff and donor needs is required. Excellent time management, superior capacity to meet deadlines, and flexibility to adjust workflow in relation to priorities is essential.
Candidates should have demonstrated success with database systems and project management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office with advanced abilities in Excel is required. Familiarity with visual arts and non-profit funding sources, knowledge of the New York arts funding community, and an interest in contemporary art and is highly preferred.
