Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, assists in defining and applying application end-user role security that supports the UT Health clinical practice. Responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, implementing, and auditing end-user security roles. Provides security consulting services to application development teams and/or customers regarding Health-IT application security standards and executing application security risk assessments.

Job Duties:

  • Utilizes online & written materials as well as professional experience to provide the appropriate application security needs for end users.
  • Assists with the development and documentation of internal procedures for health practice application security.
  • Assists with developing, documenting, and adhering to the internal security procedures that will be used in conjunction with the health practice application security.
  • Assists with troubleshooting problems with user application security.
  • Assists the Health practice application teams & end users with application security requests.
  • Under the direction of experienced Clinical Information Security Coordinators assists in conducting analysis of business and end-user needs, assessing applications, document potential risks vectors, recommending controls, documenting requirements, and revising existing application security as necessary.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science related field is required.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of EPIC system software security preferred.
  • Application security experience in a health care environment may be substituted in lieu of education.

Additional Licenses and Certifications:

  • Epic System software application certification preferred.
