As the Sr. Data Architect, you will focus on the continuous delivery of on-premise and public cloud based infrastructure, data and application architectural solutions from strategy through implementation. The Sr. Data Architect is responsible for the architecture, design, development, testing, production launch, and ongoing support of Global Data Warehousing, Operational and Reporting applications. Also lead efforts in establishing short and long strategic goals for continuous improvement solutions, efficiency, and application strategy. The Global DWH gathers data from many diverse Percepta and Client source systems including multiple Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Telephony ACDs, After Call IVR Customer Satisfaction surveys, E-mail Customer Satisfaction surveys, Quality Systems, Voice Mail and Work Force Management. These global DWH solutions support North America, UK, Germany, South Africa, Australia, and APAC regions.

This position will be responsible for all technical code reviews and approval of all software in the global Enterprise including all Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) functions from a variety of operational systems. In addition, the Sr. Data Architect will be responsible for the evolution of the architecture, analysis, and design documents, as well as planning and monitoring all system testing. Assessing the performance and capacity requirements of the data warehouse, making key technology decisions, verifying that the architecture and implementation meets all user requirements is also required.

Our Data Architects must be able to work in a hybrid environment, maintaining their traditional skill set for on-premise data, while embracing and extending their capabilities to manage the cloud data. Therefore, we are currently looking to add a capable Senior Data Architect to build and support our cloud-based and on-premise database management systems across the company while recommending and implementing standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Some duties include creating account data for authorized individuals to access databases and organizing databases so individuals can find important documents in an efficient manner.

In addition to the technical requirements, the Sr. Data Architect will provide technical leadership and mentoring to the Senior Data Warehouse Developers and Principal Applications Developers on the DWH team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Leadership for strategy, architecture, design, development, testing, production launch, and ongoing support of Global Data Warehousing, Operational and Reporting applications in accordance with developed short- and long-term strategic business goals. Develop and support Global DWH metrics required by the client’s Program SOW’s.
  • Provide architectural leadership for technology solutions, data architectures, data warehouse, cloud, and infrastructure initiatives
  • Design and develop high volume data ingestion components and ETL solutions to collect data from various internal and external sources
  • Recommend data governance processes, security standards, and models that will provide architectural guidelines to support the development initiatives
  • Participate in strategic and tactical planning and design sessions and conduct “whiteboard” sessions with product management, BI, data engineering, architects, operations, and development team
  • Ensures data quality and controls are in place to support of various data ingestion inflows and outflows processes
  • Manage and use tools in the cloud data warehouse development and deployment such as ETL tools, data quality and cleansing tools, query/reporting tools, OLAP, data mining, etc.
  • Administer the overall data warehouse strategy, architectures and security, definition of data models, all data marts, evaluation of infrastructure components, software, performance, and data applications design
  • Drive decision-making processes to align with business priorities and objectives related to key architecture solutions
  • Responsible for developing/implementing cloud infrastructure to support current and future business needs
  • Develops the strategy and approve the systems architecture for Database and application Servers, daily Database backup & recovery, and Disaster Recovery plans.
  • Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) functions from a variety of operational systems
  • Developing and maintenance of Multi-Dimensional Data Cubes loaded from the Data Warehouse
  • Assessing the performance and capacity requirements of the data warehouse
  • Assessing and ensuring all operational aspects of the data warehouse, including availability, data integrity, data feeds, etc.
  • Provide Technical Leadership for strategy, architecture, design, development, testing, production launch, and ongoing support of HR, Finance, and Operations Global Percepta Business applications.
  • Design, develop, manage, and maintain application development standards that meet or exceed industry standards and/or client identified application development requirements. Institute and manage an effective application development Systems Lifecycle methodology.
  • Make key technology decisions related to Global DWH and Enterprise Systems applications.
  • Verifying that the architecture and implementation meets all user requirements.
  • Mentor and assist in technical development of other technical staff.

Education

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or Mathematics highly desired.

Experience

  • 15+ year of experience in Technical Leadership directing the Global Data Architecture including Strategy, Design, Development, Testing, and Support.
  • 15+ years of experience in software development and software support.
  • 15+ years of experience developing Global DWH software including ETL, Logical & Physical data modeling, SQL & Data Access Optimization, and Reporting and Analytics experience. Data staging areas, Cleansing and transformation mechanisms, Star/Snowflake schemas, Business Intelligence delivery mechanisms.
  • 10+ years of experience with DWH Performance monitoring and implementing performance improvements.
  • Experience with customer contact centers and/or customer contact center technology preferred.
  • System architecture (understanding of Unix/AIX, MS SQL Server and NT systems as relates to Data Warehouse infrastructure)

Skills

  • Significant experience with Cloud Data Warehouse technologies and complex data architecture and models
  • Working knowledge of designing architectures for large volume real time data streams and component services
  • Knowledge of and experience with Big Data technologies, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Redshift
  • A proven track record for the successful delivery of cloud data warehouse solutions and related components
  • Must be a tenacious problem solver able to make routine decisions as well as after-hours support requirements.
  • Good understanding of fault-tolerant architectures and high availability
  • Good communications and listening skills are critical components of this job. Must be able to interact with development and infrastructure teams, business and vendors including the training and mentoring of team members.

  • Strong systems development life cycle methodology knowledge
