This position contributes to the mission of Oak Hills Church (OHC) to be disciples who make disciples by guiding all people to follow Jesus moment by moment. The staff member is responsible for timely delivery of quality hardware and software technical support. Provides support with troubleshooting, installing, implementing, administrating, and maintaining network systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages and oversees the installation of hardware and software products.
  • Monitors and assigns ticket queue for efficient tracking and resolution of employee’s technical issues. Develops work schedule and manages workload and equipment moves. Performs quality assurance of work performed by staff members.
  • Monitors Reliability Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, WIFI and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems.
  • Assists in the implementation and maintenance of network systems and services as well as the analysis of network performance. Conducts feasibility studies to identify and analyze network failures.
  • Supports client computer hardware and the ability to import/export software files, use the Internet effectively, and knowledge of local area network (LAN) design, configuration, and implementation.
  • Supports wireless LAN hardware including access points, bridges, client devices and accessories.
  • Conducts research and in depth troubleshooting to resolve technical issues with LAN, WAN and WIFI connectivity issues.
  • Performs upgrades and updates on network components. Troubleshoots network devices, network firewall, servers (e.g., DHCP, print).
  • Assists with the creation, implementation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures for equipment installation, configuration support, and division network operations to improve consistency and reliability.
  • Works closely with other departments and collaborates with other IT staff on infrastructure upgrades and resolving technical problems.
  • Leads staff through one-on-ones, goal setting, development, team meetings, training, and evaluation.
  • Supports annual budget preparation.
  • Participates in team and church-wide staff meetings and initiatives, special projects.
  • Maintains inventory or procures parts as needed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in information technology or related field.
  • Three (3) years of technical IT experience including hardware and software installation, network administration, project management and leading teams.
  • A + Certified.
  • Network + Certified (or completed within 6 months of employment).
  • Experience can substitute for education.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Active directory and Group policy.
  • Knowledge of Network Security; Firewalls and VPN technology.
  • Knowledge of Virtual computing.
  • Knowledge of file storage and sharing.
  • Knowledge of Vlans; Switching and Network design.
  • Knowledge of Voip Phone systems.
  • Knowledge of PC Operating Systems and hardware.
  • Knowledge of remote support tools.
  • Ability to deliver high standards of customer service.
  • Ability to configure and install networking hardware with TCP/IP.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, members, and ministry volunteers.
  • Ability to perform all the physical, intellectual, and analytical requirements of the position including decision making.
