POSITION SUMMARY

Design and implement software products, while leading minor engineering efforts &/or participate as a senior member on major engineering efforts.

POSITION OBJECTIVES

Responsible for translating software requirements into technical design documentation and working software. Making changes and fixes to existing software products as needed/required. Investigating new technology approaches including the creation of proof-of-concept solutions.

Describe Essential Functions

Development

Design and implement software products and/or product features

Create new software products/features

Security and Quality Compliance

Identify any breaches or potential breaches of corporate Information Security standards and communicate those to appropriate individuals

Unit testing, development, and execution

Adhere to all corporate Information Security policies and procedures

Maintain and improve existing software products/features

Planning and Project Management

Initiate and/or participate in technical architecture and major design discussions

Collaborate and share technical knowledge with Product Managers and other software engineers


Maintains integrity, availability, and confidentiality of all PHI

Adheres to HIPAA standards for information security, privacy, and confidentiality

Other technical duties as assigned

Technical mentorship of team member engineers


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred: Master’s Degree in mathematics, computer science, or statistics

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 7 years previous work experience as a Software Engineer or Technical Team Lead working in object-oriented programming

  • Strong ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle both internal and external conflicts
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and diplomacy skills; the ability to interact effectively in person (remote) and in writing with people of various professional and cultural backgrounds; prior exposure to a diverse, multicultural work environment.
  • The ability to communicate fluently in English; bi-lingual or multi-lingual is a plus.

A successful candidate should possess the following attributes:

  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate abstract technical concepts.
  • The ability to take technical concepts and distill down to an appropriate audience.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently, meet established deadlines.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional blended office environment that includes the requirement to operate both in-office and remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and information technology.

Occasional (0-40%)/ Frequent (41-71%)/Constant (72%-100%)

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Constant computer work which may require repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting, bending, pulling, collating, and filing, some of which could be heavy (>10lbs)

TRAVEL

Less than 10% travel may be expected for this position.
