The American Urological Association (AUA), the premier urologic association providing support to the urologic community, is currently searching for a Solutions Architect position in our Information Systems department; located in our Linthicum, Maryland office.

This position will have the possibility to telecommute up to 3 days a week.

In General

Reports on a day-to-day basis to the AUA VP and CTO. The individual in this role will act as a lead and will have a broad understanding of technology with a focus on technology stacks including those involving CRM solutions, Online Content Servers, Online & Mobile Web Applications. The solution architect will be involved in implementing solutions, including legacy platform modernization, through the project life cycle and ongoing support. This position will focus on solution level decisions and analysis of their impact on the overall business goals and outcomes.

Typically

The individual in this position will focus on:

  • Assisting in the establishment and stakeholder adoption of an IT Architecture practice and standards methodology.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to learn the business processes, operating systems, and application architectures in order to ensure that solutions fit the current or proposed architectural environment.
  • Translating customer service, marketing & financial business function needs into digitization and automation of technical solutions aligned with organizational goals and strategies.
  • Leading development and DevOps teams through the requirement refinement, design, development, testing and operational support of new or existing products; in close collaboration with business and IT leaders.
  • Leading solution & technical architecture including software and hardware sizing, capacity planning and product/application roadmap planning.

To be Successful

Candidates must provide leadership and have effective strategic skills. It is essential that the individual in this role have strong business judgment, technical industry expertise, and the ability to communicate vision.

In addition:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum twelve (12) years’ experience in architecting solutions with expertise in planning, designing, building, and implementing IT application modernization / implementation effort.
  • At least eight (8) years of the required twelve (12) years of experience must be in the direct supervision and management of major projects that involve providing professional support services and/or the integration, implementation and transition of complex legacy systems.
  • 8+ years’ experience in solution architecture, web application and/or implementation of CRM solutions including development and administration activities.
  • 8+ years’ experience in designing and developing web applications.
  • 5+ years’ experience in developing and consuming RESTful/SOAP APIs. Extensive experience in Framework such as spring, Hibernate. Experience in Design and Development of Workflows.
  • Must demonstrate a broad understanding of IT environmental issues and solutions and be a recognized expert within the IT industry.
  • Must demonstrate advanced abilities to team and mentor and possess demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong experience in CRM integration to SQL Server databases.
  • Experience in writing batch jobs, queueable jobs.
  • Experience in building front-end application using JavaScript, Angular JS, JSON, jQuery.
  • Experience in building back-end application code that interfaces with other systems, services and APIs/RESTful APIs.
  • Experience in SEO content optimization.
