USC's Gould School of Law is seeking an Assistant Director of Web Services to join its team. The successful candidate will be in charge of maintaining all aspects of the Law School website, including but not limited to: consulting, project management, training for all web related activities, and providing technical support to the law school community.

The Assistant Director of Web Services designs, develops and implements front-end and back-end applications for Web sites. The successful candidate will be adept in translating business needs into systems solutions, developing feasibility and business case analysis, effectively communicating design direction to customers and development team, and vendor evaluation and selection.

Job Accountabilities:

• Maintain all aspects of the Law School website including research and development, project management, requirements analysis, implementation, web design and integration, graphics and layout, content management, maintenance, and support.

• Translate business needs into systems solutions, developing feasibility and business case analysis, effectively communicating design direction to customers and development team, and vendor evaluation and selection.

• Create and design application functionality, structure, navigation, data flow and user interfaces.

• Develop site and application schematics used to determine the visual and functional layout of the website, as well as detailed user process flows.

• Recommend web related hardware and software purchases.

• Plan the implementation of new hardware and software web solutions.

• Continually analyze and assess the web needs of the Law School as well as provide reports based on web statistics and help to establish web policies and procedures.

• Provide technical support for end users including providing telephone, email and on-site technical support to faculty, staff and students via the Law School Help Desk.

• Provide web consulting and training to the law school community.

• Create graphics, logos, or identity for Web site as needed.

• Builds moderately complex, flexible, cross-browser compatible, scalable Web applications.

• Follows protocols and procedures to ensure application security.

• Develops installation programs for Web sites and writes stored procedures.

• Stays informed of new developments and technologies.

• Works with existing team to handle Web site technical support issues

• Modifies and adapts existing Internet applications or distributed network applications that run over HTTP protocol from a Web server to a Web browser.

• Assists in the creation of written, video and or audio content for Web site as needed.

• Assists in maintaining program libraries, users' manuals, and/or technical documentations.

• Works with existing development team to add on, improve and debug existing Web platform software.

• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

• Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient skill level with ColdFusion and/or other web development platforms.

• Proficient skill level in developing large scale systems and dynamic sites using CSS, Javascript, Coldfusion, React and Microsoft SQL Server, XML Strict CSS Developer with at least five completed sites available for viewing.

• Expertise in HTML, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft OS and Apple OS.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined work experience and education as equivalent Minimum Experience: 5 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Understanding and strong technical knowledge of and experience with object oriented design; Web servers; Web applications and programming languages; Web content management systems, search engine optimization, and usability engineering.
