IT Strategic Sourcing Consultant

This important role is responsible for a combination of technology vendor selection consults, contract negotiations and adjustments, supplier performance, internal and external customer relationships, and risk management. We are looking for an IT expert that enjoys all things technology and has significant supplier sourcing and contract management experience.

Responsibilities will include:

• Engaging IT stakeholders to develop specific subcategory plans (infrastructure, services, applications, cloud, etc)

• Developing supplier-specific sourcing plans to support the subcategory plans while informing the business of specific technology trends

• Ensuring Virginia Housing has back-up suppliers and exit strategies for current strategic-level suppliers and all future IT-related suppliers

• Conducting contract negotiations for the more complex IT purchases and negotiating updates to current contracts to include disentanglement clauses and other risk mitigation provisions

Qualified candidates must have:

• B.S. degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or equivalent degree or experience

• Several years of mid-level diverse business experience in procurement, supplier management, contracting, and/or IT related activities

• procurement knowledge and understanding of procurement processes

• Technology expertise that is consistently up to date on the latest IT industry strategies, suppliers (large, small, and upcoming), and literate in all IT terminology

• Working knowledge of IT hardware, software solutions, and cloud technologies

• Expert knowledge of contracting concepts and an ability to draft and/or adjust highly complex non-routine contractual instruments

• Significant ability to influence senior management as well as strong relationship management, interpersonal, communication (both written and spoken) skills

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimum supervision

Preferred experience includes:

• Experience in IT Sourcing or IT Contract Management

• Global perspective of business environment and technology
