Role Description:

Our teams consist of Formware^TM, our flagship software, and is an optimization and modeling product. Opsware is a suite of applications and tools for our hardware products' design, manufacturing, test, distribution, ops management, and fleet management. And, TechData builds the data pipelines to capture machine-generated data and interfaces for our battery technology.

This Software Engineer role will be part of our Opsware Team. Early projects may include developing internal tools for Form's battery R&D and operations teams, building an app to track chemical attributes of our inventory, ETL & analytics to measure downtime of lab equipment, or supporting the launch of a new manufacturing facility. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your software and data experience directly impacting climate change as part of a fast-growing team.

What You'll Do:

• Design, build, launch, and support a series of tools that help your internal users be more productive and make better decisions
• Identify opportunities for new features and support technical users to improve how our science, technician, and operations teams get work done today and keep your eye out for the challenges we're about to hit
• Fill in gaps on a small team, including acting as a designer, PM, data engineer, QA engineer, or platform engineer when needed
• Advocate for software engineering best practices across the company and lead by example
• Act as a collaborative member of a distributed software engineering team
• Passion for our mission, sustainability, and climate change

What You'll Bring:

• Mid-to-senior level professional software engineering experience
• Experience developing data-intensive software systems in Python, Flask, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and AWS (or similar)
• Bonus points for software experience related to batteries, scientific research, supply chain, manufacturing, business operations, hardware engineering, or IoT
• A pragmatic approach to problem-solving that blends good judgment, clear communication, follow-through, and creative use of resources
• Background in renewables, storage, or utilities, or strong desire to learn
