Senior Software Architect

A senior software architect supervises a team of developers in designing and developing new software systems and applications. The make high-level design decisions and oversees the entire development process. They also conduct reviews on codes developed by junior developers to ensure they are working efficiently and meet client specifications. They are responsible for solving technical software problems and providing improvement recommendations.

They work closely with their clients, product managers, business analysts, and developers in order to efficiently execute their role. A successful senior software architect must have in-depth knowledge and experience in computer codes such as C#, Java, HTML, C++. They must also have leadership skills, analytical skills, communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities-

• Collaborating with various stakeholders to determine software requirements.
• Creating high-level product specifications and design documents.
• Providing the development team with architectural blueprints to follow.
• Guiding and assisting the development team throughout the process.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with coding or design.
• Ensuring that you and the team adhere to development schedules and deadlines.
• Presenting regular progress reports and setting goals.
• Testing the final product to ensure it is completely functional and meets requirements.
• Updating software solutions as required.

Required Skills and Experience

• Master's degree in computer science.
• Extensive experience in software development and project management.
• Solid understanding of a variety of programming tools and development platforms.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Highly analytical mindset, with an ability to see both the big picture and the details.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Valid Driver’s License
• Successful drug screening
• Successful criminal History Screening
• Acceptable prior work references

Minimum Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Software Engineering
• Minimum of three prior work years as an embedded engineer
• Language: Proficient in English (Mandarin a plus)
• References: Minimum of two from previous and current employer
• Valid driver license
• Successful drug screening
• Successful criminal history screening

Position Details

• USA (Charlotte based preferred but flexible)
• Reports to Senior Software Architect
• Flexible on home versus office based
• Re-location flexible but not required
• Percentage of domestic travel required 20%
• Percentage of international travel required: 5%
