DNR’s Service Desk Manager is our expert and leader in Enterprise Desktop Computing Environment. This position touches and influences almost all technology activities and projects at the DNR. The incumbent shapes the overall Enterprise Computing and Desktop environment from both an architectural and implementation perspective by managing the Service Desk Team of IT Professionals and providing technical vision, design, and project leadership.

This position leads efforts to plan, coordinate, and implement the many projects either currently underway or on the horizon. This service is key in helping to create and shape the overall agency

Enterprise Desktop Computing Environment strategic direction from both an architectural and implementation perspective.

DUTIES:
Responsibilities:
Computing Environment System Analysis/Development/Architecture - Serves as the Agency’s highest level technical expert and authority on the Enterprise Desktop Environment. Conduct complex analysis and evaluation of the impacts of different IT Desktop Computing options on the agency’s computing environment.

Service Desk Team Supervisor - leads the Service team of 6 IT professionals, assigning tasks and making work assignments, providing feedback, completing annual performance evaluations and updating ITPDs.

Consulting – Serves as the Agency’s highest level technical expert in the area of enterprise Desktop and Compute Systems management and plays a key role in guiding the direction and development of DNR enterprise information systems.

IT Project Management Leadership – Provides leadership and direction to project teams in developing, process and procedures, developing work plans, and achieving agreed upon team goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, information systems, or related field. May substitute 6 years of experience for education.

Seven (7) years of current information technology customer service support either as a technician or supervisor supporting over 500 customers.

Seven (7) years recent experience developing agency-wide information technology system architecture in support of Desktop management.

Five (5) years of experience with enterprise SCCM administration at an expert level. Must have experience installing, upgrading and configuring the system to include:

Troubleshooting using system logs and tools

Deployment of patches and software

Setting permissions for role based security

Creating test groups as part of deployments

Setting standards, processes and procedures

Five (5) years Windows Server Administration in an enterprise environment at an expert level. Must have had experience installation, configuration and maintaining Windows server systems to include:

Imaging of windows server for deployment

Troubleshooting using system logs and tools

NTFS permission inheritance and settings

TCP/IP networking in windows systems

Registry system setting and editing

Setting standards, processes and procedures

A minimum of 10 years recent experience providing leadership and expert consultation for projects and enterprise systems that carry out organization-wide information technology functions.

Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team of technology professionals to develop and achieve department and project goals.

Specialized knowledge and experience in all systems implementation and lite cycle stages.

Project Management Certification.

Five (5) years of current supervisory or lead experience of at least two IT professionals.

MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, Network+, CCNA, CCIE certifications.
