The TopSpot Director of Technology role is primarily responsible for sharing a vision for the growth of internal & external technology solutions that create opportunities for our team, clients, and the Organization. You ultimately will lead the creation of technologies, structures, and systems to solve for internal & external complex technical situations. You will cultivate an environment of collaboration from the front line to exec levels to create solutions that reach beyond the immediate need and create an infrastructure that supports the Company’s ability to scale.

Not only will this role deliver projects in a fast-paced, Team environment, but they also oversee the planning, scheduling, execution, evolution & quality assurance. Strong critical thinking, organizational data analysis, and communication skills are necessary for success in this role as you will be serving as a primary liaison between each business function to enhance operational performance through architecturally sound platforms & technology.

Role Summary

Essential Functions

• Leads development & implementation of technology
• Develops business continuity protocols to minimize disruption in business operations
• Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards
• Develops and maintains relationships with technology vendors
• Research and evaluate new technologies to provide a strong growth environment for software engineers, as well as the Company

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in a related position with direct management experience.
• Minimum 8 years’ SaaS experience required.
• Strong agile / project management skills
• Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work well with all levels of management, as well as technical contributors
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Previous experience in mentoring, developing and leading junior & senior team members
• Ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations

Technical Requirements

• Back-end web development experience, preferably utilizing PHP
• Experience utilizing modern font-end JavaScript frameworks to develop single-page applications
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience with HTML and CSS
• Understanding of REST APIs and OAuth2
• Understanding of object-oriented programming
• Git version control
• Experience with the Laravel and Vue frameworks
• Experience with AWS cloud services
• Experience with Serverless computing
• Experience in maintaining and optimizing big data
• Understanding of UI/UX fundamentals
• Improve and optimize existing codebases
• Troubleshoot software issues and debugging
