Position Summary

This position is responsible for the technical leadership and management of the telecommunication systems in use in all areas of the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC).

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the successful design, implementation and operations of the following telecommunication systems at the MAC:
    • All Handheld 2-way Radio Systems in use at the MAC including the 800 MHz Digital Trunked Radio System (MN ARMER).
    • Centrex and Cellular, courtesy phones, 911 systems and other standalone analog systems;
    • Cellular & Public Safety Radio Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS);
    • Campus wide public and employee Wi-Fi
    • Citizen Broadband Radio Service
  • Coordinating telecommunication system delivery and services among MAC departments and projects as required.
  • Managing the day-to-day technical activities required by the MAC telecommunication system.
  • Ensuring the telecommunication systems are updated and maintained to provide the greatest value to the MAC. This includes being the technical subject matter expert and creating long term plans to bring efficiency and innovation to our operations.
  • Contributing to the overall wireless / RF operations for the MAC including the administration and planning required for effective use and operations of licensed and unlicensed frequencies.
  • Representing the MAC at various Metropolitan and State Telecommunication Groups.
  • Developing opportunities to provide technical services to our external partners to improve their services and operations and generate revenue where possible.
