Application Developer, Consultant

Your Role

The Sales/Quote to Enroll team is responsible for enrolling members, groups, and brokers into Blue Shield of California. The Application Developer, Consultant will report to the IT Development Manager. In this role you will help the Sales/Quote to Enroll team implement solutions to help the business support the enrollment and maintenance of our groups and brokers.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop user interfaces, application programs using the technical specifications and design documents
• Recommend improvements to the SDLC and other departmental processes
• Improve the reliability and utilization of systems and applications
• Monitor software configuration changes to anticipate and address the impact of data reliability and customer satisfaction issues
• Coordinate sustaining support for 1-2 application platforms or business processes
• Design integrations between systems that meet architecture and security requirements.
• Lead project teams by implementing best practices, leading code reviews, and making decisions that led to successful projects.
• Mentor other developers and analysts
• Present architecture and solution designs to the Solution Design Review Board
• Lead by example and step in as needed to help the team

Your Knowledge and Experience

• Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience
• Required at least 5 years of knowledge of Salesforce, Lightning or Vlocity
• Required at least 5 years of SQL/Oracle experience
• Desired knowledge of Facets or other claims system
• Desired at least 2 years of knowledge of Dell Boomi
• Desired knowledge of Apache Kafka
