Your Role

We are looking for a Lead Database Administrator (Database Engineer, Consultant), who will be working in a senior capacity as part of a team of DBAs. Working in collaboration with cross-functional teams to design, build, upgrade, modify and operationally administer new or existing MongoDB, Cloudera, MySQL, IBM DB2, IBM Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server, Goldengate, Kafka in support of critical enterprise applications. Primary focus area would be Oracle, Goldengate, GoldenGate for Big Data and MongoDB.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Acts as a database technology subject matter expert (Primary Focus Oracle, Goldengate, RAC and MongoDB), providing technical leadership within the DBA team. Working with cross functional teams in building, scalable enterprise solutions
  • Designs, configures and manages complex Goldengate mappings, to facilitate change data capture and integration between various transactional and analytic systems
  • Establish and maintain performance baselines, troubleshoot performance issues and provide recommendations/fixes for identified issues
  • Provides architectural guidelines to build and maintain scalable database environments
  • Creates, supports and administers relational databases
  • Oversees administration and performs hands-on administration of databases, related tools, processes and operations in large OLTP, batch and data warehouse environments
  • Recommends solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and required data security and data backup/recovery specifications
  • Ensures proper design, implementation, performance, availability, security, auditing and capacity management of related database systems
  • Develops and implements standards and best practices
  • Operates under general direction. Assignments are very broad in nature and of the highest level of complexity. Able to impact beyond area of responsibility


Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or specialized training, certification or equivalent work experience
  • 8 to 12 years of directly related professional experience and possesses deep technical abilities in one or more primary products, programs or technologies
  • Strong Oracle administration, database architecture skills
  • Excellent Goldengate administration skills
  • Well versed in setting up and administering multi-node Oracle RAC clusters hosting multi-terabyte databases
  • Oracle Security and Hardening expertise is required
  • Practical experience in pro-active and reactive database performance tuning
  • A learning mentality is a must and willingness to get familiar with and develop expertise in new and varied database technology platforms both on-premises and in the cloud.

  • Database capacity forecasting
  • Supporting large scale Oracle databases on Unix based systems, preferably Linux and AIX
  • Databases hosted on virtualized platforms (VMware, AIX LPARs)
  • Extensive experience with different backup/restore and disaster recovery solutions
  • Recent experience installing, configuring and managing Oracle 19c environments
