Your Role
The Performance Insights team is responsible for providing executive business leaders with the insights and guidance necessary to make informed decisions. The Health Data Analyst – Consultant will report to the Senior Manager of Performance Insights. In this role, the Health Data Analyst – Consultant will use their critical thinking, problem solving, and technical skills to design, develop, and deliver the insights and analytics necessary to drive informed decision-making at the executive level. The Health Data Analyst - Consultant will independently intake, synthesize, and analyze significant amounts of data to produce business relevant insights, presenting actionable findings succinctly and articulately to stakeholders.
Your Work
- Provide insights on highly complex topics, through the analysis and interpretation of data, in support of cross-functional business operations
- Design and develop performance reports and insights, utilizing data from multiple sources, for consumption by various levels of executive management
- Translate findings from data into consumable, actionable insights via summaries, visualizations, and recommendations
- Drive requirements discovery efforts with stakeholders and key business partners to identify and frame business challenges, insight needs, output needs, and project success criteria
- Partner with cross-functional business owners to identify and act upon performance and process improvement opportunities
- Fulfill analytical requests of varying complexity timely and accurately, under minimal supervision
- Collaborate with other technical and service platform support teams to identify, analyze, and recommend improvements to current enterprise data resources
- Critically review and revise reports and reporting sources to accommodate updates and enhancements
- Provide technical guidance and support to the Enterprise Data team in designing and conducting data collection initiatives
- Continuously expand technical skills and business acumen to adequately field increasingly complex projects
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires an MPH, MBA, MS, MA in science, social science, public health, health services research or business, or BA/BS with demonstrated equivalent work experience
- Requires at least seven (7) years’ prior relevant work experience
- At least four (4) years’ experience working with SQL/SAS, manipulating and analyzing data to independently form business insights
- Requires at least five (5) years’ experience with data analytics and insights within the Healthcare industry
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong ability to translate business needs into actionable analytics, manipulate mass data, and translate analytics results into valuable business insights
- Demonstrated experience working autonomously with business reporting, analytics, data mining, and developing key performance metrics in complex environments
- Strong investigative skills, including root-cause analyses, technical troubleshooting, process analyses, and infrastructural gap analyses
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional audiences of varying technical knowledge
- Experience working with Tableau reporting tools (Desktop, Server, Prep) including experience standing-up Tableau Server environments, preferred.
