JOB TITLE: Front-End Web Developer – Paid on Performance, LLC

OVERVIEW:

Paid on Performance, LLC is seeking an experienced front-end web developer to help support its growing customer and user base. The primary objective of the front-end web developer is to support the development team in building a new website for all company entities. The website will be built on Linux running Node.js. One area of focus for the front-end web developer will be working with marketing and designers to capture the feeling and objectives of each company entity. The other key objective will be generating a customer experience that builds site engagement, loyalty, increases conversion, and foundationally creates a growing base of visitors. The implementations will need to be well designed, responsive, and highly performant. SEO needs to be a major focus and other important protocols and recommendations need to be accounted for, such as accessibility and CWV. As priorities change, the developer will be expected to handle other projects. Our development team is not afraid to try new technologies. We need someone who is passionate about building and maintaining a better web and also looks forward to the challenge of learning new software technologies and methodologies. The development team is small and driven to keep up with our fast-paced business. No two days are the same and each brings its own set of challenges that the dev team works to solve, both individually and as a team. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports To: Director of Software Development

Key Internal Relationships: Development Team, Marketing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Build progressive web apps (PWAs) that consider CWV, SEO, and accessibility
  • Write SQL queries that drive pages and processes
  • Effectively troubleshoot bugs in code or slow running queries
  • Effectively troubleshoot slow running web pages
  • Attend bi-weekly agile planning meetings
  • Write and maintain code that adheres to programming style of dev team
  • Collaborate with dev and marketing team on large projects or issues
  • Determine which type of rendering should be used for each page/objective
  • Keep websites up to date with upcoming changes to SEO best practices
  • Develop and maintain backlinks
  • Develop and implement strategies for pushing new, relevant content
  • Develop and implement keyword strategies
  • Write readable and maintainable code
  • Utilize material components or similar technologies to optimize user experience
  • Create solutions to drive conversion and engagement throughout online or app experience


KEY SKILLS:

  • 5+ years experience in web development
  • 5+ years working with HTML and CSS
  • 5+ years experience with SEO
  • 3+ years working with PWA frameworks (Angular, React, Vue)
  • 3+ years working with Node.js and Javascript
  • 2+ years writing SQL queries against a Relational Database
  • Deep understanding of the version control tool Git
  • Experience with both SSR and CSR
  • Experience with Service Workers
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with Express.js
  • Experience with SSH and Linux
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks like jQuery
  • Experience with CSS frameworks like Bootstrap
  • Must be great at working independently
  • Exceptional problem solving
  • Willingness to try new things and think outside the box
  • Must be willing to wear different “hats” based on project need
  • Fluency in both oral and written English



NICE TO HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Proficiency in the Google productivity suite
  • Experience with Amazon’s flavor of Linux
  • Experience with WebStorm IDE
  • Experience with mail servers
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Experience with Windows Server and ASP technologies
