Test Technician

We are looking to hire an entry-level Test Technician to ensure our products remain compliant with our company and customer standards. The major roles are to perform manual and automated tests of company products, perform basic technical writing of test plans, and communicate defects clearly and effectively to engineering teams and leads.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform software, hardware, and drive tests by following test procedures.
• Maintain current product test procedures for quality assurance.
• Work alongside engineers and hardware production team to achieve peak quality & reliability metrics for our products.
• Test hardware and software to fulfill customer deliveries.
• Provide detailed defect reports to engineers when an issue arises from testing.

Skills and Knowledge:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

• Highly proficient using computers on regular basis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate professionally and in a technical manner with engineers
• Ability to follow technical instructions to set up and configure products
• Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word)
• Detail-orientated character
• Team-orientated character and experience working as a team to meet common goals
• Experience working independently and planning/prioritizing multiple tasks
• Be proactive & self-motivated to take independent initiative & develop new ideas
• Valid NJ Driver’s License

Additional Desired Skills:

• Interest in and/or experience in Python, Shell scripting, BASH, software testing, or quality assurance
• Knowledgeable with Linux operating system
• Basic technical writing

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Associates Degree, certificate, or higher in Information Technology or related field
• 0 to 3 years of related experience
