JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW

TriNet is looking for a Staff Software Engineer who will design, develop, and handle the release of our organization's web-based applications. This integral role works closely with program management to ensure successful operational deployment of new applications while maintaining business continuity of existing applications.

This is a hands-on technical role, providing the opportunity to build first-class UI web applications and to build out a state-of-the-art Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefits services delivery platform. We are seeking someone who is highly self-motivated, hardworking, innovative, and proactive in finding solutions to join our team!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform technical oversight and assessment of application and system development projects to ensure technical integrity and compliance with design requirements

• Work closely with Program Managers and other partners/stakeholders to develop project plans, and participate in resource planning

• Develop, evaluate, and implement improved processes, methods, and tools to continually improve software delivery effectiveness.

• Deliverables include, usable software increments, software design documents, raw documentation, test cases and unit testing, fixes, and incident resolution.

• Takes care for maintenance of existing releases for product / capability delivered by the team

• Specify systems architecture, application design, systems integration methods, and data migration tools and techniques

• Coordinate with QA testing staff to ensure comprehensive test coverage, effective performance and load tests, timely resolution of issues, and other actions to assure delivery of quality software

• Fulfills agreed done criteria and quality / test standards (e.g. static checks, test automation up-to-date and running).

• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion.

• Mentor and develop junior team members

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical /Electronic Engineering or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in Javascript or Javascript frameworks developing and maintaining large scale enterprise web applications using:

o Angular v2+, AngularJS, or ReactJs

o HTML5, CSS, JSON

o Java, Spring MVC/Spring Boot, JDBC, Hibernate

o Karma with Jasmine, Junit, Mockito, REST Assured

o Apache Webserver, Tomcat Application Server

o Oracle, SQL, MongoDB

• Experience writing and consuming RESTful services.

• Extensive knowledge of model-view-controller driven application development.

• Development within an IDE such as Visual Studio or Webstorm

• Proficient in use of SQL and data modeling

• Experience with formal SDLCs and development methodologies required

• Working knowledge with testing tools and techniques such as Karma with Jasmine, continuous integration

• Experience with Software design patterns and developing test driven applications.

• Solid understanding of data integration technologies and processes

• Strong knowledge of SCM systems like Git and Gitflows.

• Experience working with microservices architecture and in distributed applications

• Cross-platform (PC/Mac, desktop, laptop, tablet) and cross-browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari) development preferred

• Proficiency with the DOM and asynchronous event-programming model preferred

• Knowledge of the following is a plus: AWS EC2 cluster, AOP, Docker, Kubernetes, Kubectl and Rancher

• Human Resources, Payroll, and/or Benefits business domain experience a plus

• Experience in full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)

• Work in a highly collaborative team setting

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of secure coding standards and best practices

• Understanding of Agile practices such as test-driven development and continuous integration.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders through written documentation

• Must take initiative, be a conclusive decision-maker and show confidence in decisions made and be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance

• Looking for a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources

• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace

• Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities

• Minimal travel required
