Technical Product Manager Job Description
REMOTE / FULL TIME

Fabric is a seed-stage, venture-backed, geospatial augmented-reality startup building the third dimension of human connection. Some call it the metaverse. Whatever you call it, it’s the future.

Fabric was founded to grow the social fabric. People are more interconnected digitally than ever before, but they are also more disconnected locally. Fabric solves that. We transform local activities into shared experiences, starting with the number one industry that brings people together: Sports. We work with the San Francisco 49ers, the NY Mets, and other leading sports organizations worldwide to drive geospatial AR engagement.

About the Role
Fabric is looking for an outstanding Technical Product Manager to join our core team who will report directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate has spent 5+ years as a product manager (possibly in a high-growth startup), has a technical background (BS in Computer Science or similar), is passionate about building products with lean methodology, including agile development, and has strong track record of successfully working with developers to deliver products that delight users, and prioritizes the customer above all else.

The successful candidate will be adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies including React.js, Node.js, WebGL, Unity, and others, and have strong communication skills to support projects and write requirements for our teams in the US and worldwide.

Being Fabric’s Technical Product Manager means that you will help lead the direction of our geospatial AR platform and, with it, the future of mixed-reality human experiences. You will help shape AR experiences for millions of sports fans in the years ahead.

We believe:

  • We celebrate honesty, creativity, communication, collaboration, inclusiveness, diversity and contribution.
  • Flexibility is not a nice-to-have for employees today. It’s a must. Work is measured by contributions to our customers and the organization, not by the number of hours you’ve logged.
  • Work is better when you know your colleagues. Monthly happy hours (virtual and in-person), quarterly excursions, and community engagement are all part of our “business as usual.”

You will:

  • Define, execute, and deliver on a product roadmap that includes: Fabric’s WebAR experience, iOS and Android SDK, and our new Client editor and data platform.
  • Define product strategy and direction to serve client needs and end user experiences.
  • Implement and manage lean product development cycles, bringing together the best of agile development, sprint, user research, and interaction design.
  • Determine feature requirements and manage on-time delivery of milestones.
  • Manage the product roadmap, define high-level initiatives, acceptance criteria, success metrics, build epics & stories for your product.
  • Drive the roadmap for platform services and APIs to continuously deliver value to empower consumers of our platform.
  • Work across teams of software engineers, architects, quality assurance, and product designers to deliver platform services and APIs.
  • Facilitate the creation & maintenance of documentation.
  • Analyze customers, markets, and opportunities to balance risk, technical complexity, and value.
  • Identify resources needed and work closely with the team leads to maintain full visibility of multiple projects, ensuring resource gaps are addressed efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the research team to understand customer experiences and demands.
  • Manage cross-functional teams.
  • Manage product releases.
  • Understand product selling points.
  • Identify and fill product gaps.
  • Generate new product ideas.
  • Communicate product plans across the company.

You have:

  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
  • 5+ years experience as a technical product manager in software and/or computer vision, ideally working on growth problems.
  • Technical background with experience in software development or web technologies.
  • Previous experience in a product development or management role.
  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with and managing highly technical teams and communicating to

non-technical colleagues.

  • Commitment to human-centered and empathetic approaches to user research and technology.
  • Experience building cross-platform experiences (native, mobile web, desktop)
  • Experience delivering impactful products and features that are heavily informed by data as well as user research.
  • Passion for building products that unlock value for people who are not power users
  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organizational skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within diverse, cross-functional teams.

You’ll earn:

  • At least $120,000 per year. Your salary will be partially based on your location and will be highly competitive compared to similar-stage companies in your area.
  • Stock options.
  • Medical, dental and vision benefits.
  • You will have access to a $1k education stipend to allocate as you choose within the calendar year.
  • Unlimited pre-planned vacation (within reason).
