embark.live is a new B2B marketplace that connects early-stage startups to startup experts. Our community focuses on eLearning, live industry talks, and 1:1 sessions as the future of recruiting. Think Upwork meets Masterclass. With embark, we’ve built a new way for early-stage startups to hire top talent through interactive events hosted by industry leaders.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a results & process-driven Business Development Rep who can help identify new partnerships and business opportunities. You will be the face of the company while having the dedication to create and execute an effective partnership strategy from the ground up.

In this role, you will recruit new startups & experts to join the community. Our goal is to focus on partnerships with other communities, co-working spaces, and startup groups to expand our customer base and drive sustainable growth.

Your impact:

  • Develop a strategic growth plan to reach ideal candidates and partners
  • Research partners, identify key players, and generate interest
  • Identify and source partnership opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with selected partners to understand their needs
  • Create an efficient, process-driven approach to outreach and relationship management
  • Arrange virtual business meetings with prospective clients & partners
  • Perform sales outreach and manage prospecting email campaigns
  • Collaborate with senior management and other sales teammates to align our internal goals with new and existing partner relationships
  • Keep records of all partnership deals and sales revenue in a CRM system
  • Prepare sales contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
  • Deeply understand our target market. Learn how to promote embark.live’s product while discovering and even predicting clients’ goals and objectives

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently while being a team player & collaborator
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
  • Strong leadership and active listening skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Google Suite and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot)
  • BSc/BA in business administration, sales, communications, or relevant field preferred

*This will start as a contract role for the first 2 months. After proving that you can be effective, there is an enormous opportunity to move to a full-time role and eventually become a key team member at this early-stage startup.
