Principal Software Architect

The Company:

DeliverFund is a nonprofit intelligence organization that leverages cutting-edge technology in the fight against human trafficking. We are seeking a Principal Architect to lead our mission of building unique software to combine with counter-terrorism methodologies in the fight against modern slavery.

The Role:
Our Engineering team operates as a startup focused on building the world’s first SaaS intelligence platform for the fight against human trafficking. As we continue to grow our platform and customer base, we are looking for someone to architect and evolve both our platform and Engineering team. This is a full-time salaried position.

Reporting to the CIO, your responsibilities will include:

• Working with our executive team, analysts, and customers to identify the highest-impact technical solutions needed to battle the current threatscape
• Defining the systems and software architecture needed to provide those solutions, and the steps needed to implement them
• Using a modern SDLC process (of your choice) to lead and grow a team of three engineers in the execution of our objectives
• Writing code and evolving our platform incrementally to make meaningful progress in the short-term
• Providing visibility to leadership on the Engineering team’s incremental progress towards company goals

What You Bring:

• 8+ years of experience in full-stack web development
• 4+ years of technical leadership in an architectural or management role
• You have battle-hardened experience with a modern programming language and ORM such as Python/Django or Ruby/Rails, and an RDBMS like Postgres or MySQL
• You have designed and managed secure, medium+ sized systems or software architectures that include both UI and API offerings
• You have experience operating and managing your applications in production on AWS or other clouds and used DevOps tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or Jenkins to do so
• You understand how companies and datasets grow quickly and act decisively to manage the quality/cost/speed equation
• You enjoy mentoring and learning from colleagues at all levels
• You aren’t afraid to jump in and solve near-term challenges while still leading the team toward its North Star
• You have excellent judgment with a strong sense of accountability for yourself and your team
• You are able to articulate how our platforms function and answer technical questions regarding integrations and feature development during video conferences with potential clients

Bonus Points:

• Experience with data gathering/mining/scraping
• Experience with image recognition, steganography, geospatial programming
• You’ve recently led a team through rapid development of a complex web application
• You have experience using Atlassian products such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
• You’ve implemented data integrations between your stack and third-party providers
• Passionate about making the world a better place using modern technology
• You live near or would move to Albuquerque, NM, Dallas, TX or Whitefish, MT to work from our offices
