Position Summary:

This position coordinates the operations and technology requirements of SAG-AFTRA Foundation events and facility rentals including creation of graphic elements, broadcasts of live events, post-production of recorded video, archival of digital assets, and creation of promotional video content. The IT & Production Coordinator also assists with IT projects, maintenance of digital assets, and technical support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Coordination

  • Supports and maintains Los Angeles facilities (screening room, computer lab, etc) including the troubleshooting of technical issues with computer and A/V equipment.
  • Coordinates with Program Directors and Theater Renters to create and prepare graphic elements for video production and test media assets.
  • Tests and prepares equipment for a variety of A/V productions, including teleprompter/camera set-ups, single and multi-camera set-ups.
  • Conducts livestream broadcasts and recordings using Tricaster software, incorporating graphic and media elements, and assuring the quality & integrity of productions.
  • Archives and organizes digital and video assets and provides additional editing of recorded videos and special projects.
  • Coordinates with the Communications department to create promotional video content.
  • Maintains the Foundation’s YouTube channels, including moderation of user comments.
  • Trains new Livestream and A/V Technicians.
  • Acts as A/V technician for events held in the Los Angeles screening room and online, as needed.

IT Coordination

  • Assists IT & Production Manager with IT projects, user management, website updates, maintenance of online assets, and technical support.
  • Communicates with IT & Production Manager and Operations Manager to report on facility issues and needs.
  • Provides technical support for users of the Foundation’s facilities and websites, via phone and email.



Internal Interactions: Program Director, IT & Production Manager, Operations Manager, A/V Technicians, Communications Director.

External Interactions: Guests/members at events, Theater renters, Members with tech support needs

Supervisory Responsibilities: A/V Technicians.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Professional editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as high competence with Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and Audition
  • Excellent understanding of post-production, video and transcoding formats, and bitrates.
  • High level competence with Google Workspace (G Suite) administration
  • High level competence with web development, including WordPress, HTML, CSS, and PHP
  • High level competence with livestream equipment, web interfaces and technology including YouTube Live, Zoom, and NewTek TriCaster
  • High level competence with Windows desktop applications including MS Office, Command Prompt, VLC, Zoom, and Chrome
  • Ability to communicate difficult and complex software applications to people with little technical knowledge.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekend hours.
  • Familiarity with audio, video and lighting setup for professional recordings.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality of information.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks under deadline.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpretive and analytic ability.
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such a level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s sole discretion.
