LineSlip Solutions was founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs with over 40 years of commercial insurance experience as brokers, producers, underwriters, and executives. Purpose-built for the commercial insurance industry, we have created a framework that uses Natural Language Processing to automatically extract and organize data previously locked in binders, policies, proposals, and other insurance documents. With LineSlip solutions for Private Equity, Real Estate, and Risk Management, you can easily visualize data, automate reporting and make smarter, more timely business decisions that affect the bottom line. Based in Chicago, LineSlip Solutions is actively working with some of the country’s leading risk managers, insurance brokerage, private equity, and real estate firms.

We are looking for an experienced VP of engineering to manage our development teams.

The responsibilities of a VP of engineering include leading a team of developers and engineers, collaborating with our senior product leadership, and ensuring that the code meets the spec.

You should be a hands-on technical expert, be able to collaborate with team members, and be a strategic problem-solver. You should feel comfortable in an agile environment, delivering enhancements at regular intervals, and supporting an array of different internal customers.

Requirements:

7+ years managing high-performing technical teams in an environment of rapid development and company growth.

5+ years working with C-level executives and heads of product in managing a roadmap, measuring sprint performance, and assigning headcounts.

· 5+ years’ experience specifically managing teams focused on Azure SaaS, with a significant cloud-based server component to your tech stack in Azure.

· Experience working in a team using Agile development and project management practices.

· Demonstrable expertise designing and building server-side systems and enterprise Datawarehouse reporting infrastructures used in business intelligence reporting.

· Demonstrable strong hands-on experience with C# .net, python, Angular, and modern web services.

· Demonstrable experience using modern cloud-based technologies, particularly server-less computing, microservices architectures, and k8 containers to create next-gen platforms.

· Demonstrable experience using test-driven development and automated testing suites to help maintain server-side code.

· Demonstrable experience load testing and building products and data warehouses that have been forced to scale.

· Ability to shift from rapid prototyping to durable development as the situation demands.

· Demonstrable experience tying together multiple services and data sources, breaking apart functional components in the pursuit of improved reliability and monitoring.
