Product Design UX Lead Description
Our team is seeking a lead designer to join our growing company. Currently in stealth mode, our team is backed by a group of highly successful financial services leaders, entrepreneurs and celebrity endorsers. We’re building an app in the Bill Pay space, and are working with a product development firm to create our MVP. As we develop the app and transition it to our team, we are seeking a product design UX lead to craft a consumer bill pay experience that delights consumers and empowers them to take control of paying their bills. In this role the design lead will ensure the experience will delight, capture and engage the consumer with a clean friendly easy to use UI. This will be the only designer to start and will also work on other design-oriented projects as we gear to launch. Familiarity with Consumer Banking, digital payments and personal financial management application is desired, and experience designing consumer mobile first experiences is required.
You
• Familiar with working in start-up/early stage companies (< 10 engineers) and has stayed on through successive years
• Obsessed with delighting a customer and passionate about simplification and design-thinking.
• Artist at heart. Love designs, simple & elegant user experiences. Have a list of favorite apps & websites based on usability and experience.
• Work closely with engineers to provide guide designs so they can be transformed into functioning user-facing products
• Ability to take a mundane bill pay experience and transform it into an experience people love.
• Strong leadership and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications to be successful
• 6+ years of relevant professional design experience
• A portfolio of work that shows you were directly responsible for the success of high impact projects and initiatives that have benefited end-users.
• Experience designing mobile and responsive web applications
• Proficient in Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Proto.io and other modern design tools.
• Illustration & video production skills are a plus.
