Full Stack Engineer II

DSPolitical is hiring for a Full Stack Engineer II to further solidify DSPolitical as the leader in targeted advertising for progressive digital campaigns by growing our presence in the market.

About the Position

The Full Stack Engineer II provides support to the Director of Engineering and Technology team. Builds new features for and maintains existing features of the DSPolitical Platform. Works to develop new product offerings and enhance existing offerings. Is able to ensure work is bug-free.

Specific duties may include the following:

• Develop new product offerings and enhance existing products across the DSPolitical ecosystem including user interface code and back-end APIs.
• Participates in the Quality Assurance process including writing automated tests.
• Provide front-line support for internal product owners.
• Work with more-senior team members to expand skill-set.
• Provide mentorship to more-junior team members.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

Essential Attributes & Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in web application development.
• Strong experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) development, modern, object-oriented PHP, interfacing APIs including those without a pre-built SDK.
• Experience working with a modern reactive JavaScript framework such as Angular, React, or Vue.
• Basic understanding of SQL, CSS/SASS.
• A drive for problem-solving.
• Experience with web application development in Python as well as familiarity with AWS preferred but not required.
• Due to legal requirements of campaign ads, US work authorization is required.

Office Hours

Work hours are consistently 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, with the expectation that evening and weekend work will be required as necessary. Due to COVID-19, this position is temporarily remote for the 2021 year.
