About the Role

As the embedded Linux engineer, you will own our embedded software and firmware. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a background in Cellular and RF IoT technologies (Zwave). You will be an integral part of the engineering team to deliver real, immediately impactful products. You will be leading a small team in charge of our smart home gateway.

In this role you will also be expected to:

  • Full cycle software development of embedded applications already deployed and those under development.
  • Cellular device management and reliability
  • Zwave device integration
  • Take pride in and own your code
  • Manage/Debug a large network of distributed devices
  • Lead and Manage and Engineering team

About You

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • BS in Computer Science, EE, or related Field
  • Proficient in Embedded C/C++ development
  • Experience in BASH, Python desired
  • Ability to lead both technically and with people skills
  • Experience in ARM development
  • Experience in Raspberry Pi or similar (e.g., Beaglebone)
  • Experience in USB development
  • Scaled device management – deploying WS02 Embedded, or AWS/Azure IoT
  • Familiarity with udev
  • Filesystem setup and modification (currently raspbian lite distro)
  • Diagnosing remote systems and post-mortem (log based) debugging
  • Experience in hardware/software watchdogging
  • Experience in cellular network management and modem reliability. AT command set, etc.
  • Experience in Linux networking
  • Experience in RF protocols (Zwave preferred, Zigbee, BLE, WiFi)
